From a more global perspective, they've invested heavily in Macau/Chinese market, and taking Pacquiao over there helped build Zou Shiming...who is a fixture at the Venetian in Macau.

So it's perhaps narrow-minded to only look at how many ppv buys Pacquiao-Rios.
If Top Rank wants to put more emphasis in China that's fine, how does that help Cotto? Is there a big PR demographic in China I'm not aware of? Or maybe a big African-American population that would dig Bradley, or Mexican for Rios? RocNation is better in the US than Top Rank which is where Cotto has and would get most of his fans.

To say Cotto is hated by our people back in the island is also crazy, yes some dont like him but the vast majority do like him. He is very loved here in the North, just go to one of his MSG fights then come back here and tell us about it. I will say 80% are Ricans showing him support!

“There are a lot of places in the United States that want to host this fight, Texas, Las Vegas, and New York. Those 3 places have shown the greatest interests and have made offers to host the fight.” Regarding the May 2nd date, Penagaricano says, “There is no problem with the May date. Canelo wanted the date in May and we have no issue with the date. If it’s in May, great. If it’s in April or June that’s not a problem either, but if it’s May, there’s no issue.”
With mayweather fighting in may... do you honestly think that cotto was gonna "compete" with floyd? Be honest and remember that cotto is looking for the most money possible and splitting a ppv with two different fights, cotto-canelo floyd-whoeveritwouldhavebeen, would not generate cotto the most money possible. So again, with floyd fighting in may, and knowing full well that cotto wont compete with floyd, cuz he pretty much doesn't care as much as canelo does about cinco de mayo weekend, why would cotto fight in may and not in june?

You weren't talking about Cotto, you used Pac-Rios ppv numbers to say "That's Top Rank not knowing what the **** they are doing".

As for Cotto, DuBoef said what deal he brought Cotto for Alvarez "DuBoef said he offered Cotto $10.5 million for the fight with a chance to make millions more from his lion's share of the split with the Canelo camp".

            http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...-nation-sports

If Cotto can make more than that as a boxer, promoter, etc. with Roc Nation, that's great for him.

But Roc Nation is still very new in boxing and hasn't even promoted a fight with him yet...so it seems a bit premature to start drawing some of the conclusions you're drawing about them as promoters.

If your uncle threw a brick at you and it went through your car window, wouldn't you want to kick his ass? Be honest homie.
