Marquez was at his worst physical form in the fight vs. Floyd. JMM was a blown-up lightweight in very poor physical shape. At that time, he barely gained enough weight in mostly fat, and even so he was underweight. Very slow-punching, bad reflexes, very soft, easy to drop. ANY TRUE TOP WELTERWEIGHT would have knocked him out that night. And, as if Marquez's softness, slowliness and weakness in that particular fight wasn't enough, Floyd had the nerve to show up to the weigh-in overweight by several pounds (but in 100% top-shape nonetheless) and just paid a fine. On fight night, Floyd looked ripped and much heavier than a pathetic JMM, who looked incredibly soft, out of shape and at least two divisions lighter than Floyd.

The likely roided-up Hulkquez that knocked Pac unconscious, would have obliterated both May and Bradley, easily, but I guess he didn't want to take the chance again with Bradley.

Bottom line: comparing a pathetic a JMM with all kinds of disadvantages vs. Floyd with a huge and powerful Marquez maybe on peds in the last fight vs. Pac, simply holds no water whatsoever.

Pacquiao whooped Mosley and forced him to retreat for 9 rounds. Mosley neared dropped Floyd and was pushing the entire fight. Therefore Pacquiao beats Mayweather, using Mosley's "Marquez" logic. Same train of thought for Cotto, De La Hoya, Hatton, all of whom Pacquiao demolished in much more devastating fashion than Mayweather.

Anyway, here's how you eradicate the Marquez theory.

Mayweather dominates Marquez, Marquez is competitive with Pacquiao, therefore Mayweather beats Pacquiao.

Let's replace the name 'Mayweather' with 'Bradley':

Bradley dominates Marquez, Marquez is competitive with Pacquiao, therefore Bradley beats Pacquiao.

If Manny does win, it will be one of the greatest victories of all time IMO.

It'll still be a great, great win for Floyd obviously, but I think Manny has more to gain by winning this fight.

Of course it does... that's because it's "cool" to discredit Floyd as a boxer. If Manny makes it out the first round he'll get more credit for that than if Mayweather wins by KO!

exactly how i see the fight going, ppl have overhyped this fight so badly thinking pacman might win becuase hes basically the only guy floyd hasnt fought lol, its just gonna be another win for money may.

This fight is closer than many people think. I like Mosley's perspective since he fought both men and knows first hand what's it like to be in the ring with them. One thing. Mosley almost put Mayweather down(of course Floyd adjusted) and Manny knocked down Shane. What I get from that is Floyd will no doubt be the pure boxer while Manny will use his angles and throw them with hurting intentions. Floyd will not go for a knockout while Manny would rather knock May out.

I do not believe that Mosley's performance against Pacquiao and Mayweather will have any bearing on this fight.

The Pacquiao/Mayweather style matchup is completely different.

Mayweather blitzing Marquez, whilst Marquez knocked Pacquiao out cold..... will not have an ounce of bearing on this fight either, for the exact same reason..... a completely different style matchup.
