That was not one of Pac's better nights though - that is not a version I would hope shows up. Why do you think that fight is a good example here just wondering?

I felt like alot of times Bradley was doing what mayweather does which is stand right in front and make his opponent miss. The problem Bradley had is that Manny was timing where bradleys head was going to be after he moved his head out of the way. Mannys fist met bradleys head in the middle perfectly every time. Also Bradley is naturally a bigger stronger guy than pacquiao, who uses space really well and is very athletic, just like mayweather. If anyone says that wasn't a good fight for pacquiao is on something. He dominated nearly every round, even though Bradley was throwing more. Manny was far more accurate. Powerful, and outlanded Bradley almost 2 to 1. Also Manny almost knocked him out, and was hitting him with some really good power shots. In the second round where Bradley supposedly hurt his leg, Manny hit him clean on the chin during one of his wild combos and Bradley damn near got koed. Manny is so fast with his hands that alot of times you can't tell if his hands hit his opponents face or not. Alot of times his opponents get hurt bad and you can't even tell until watching the replay that Manny landed a powerful shot to the chin.

The other thing this shouldn't be about is good vs bad like some have indirectly made it sound like over the years. Both guys have done acts of arrogance, caring acts, made bad choices, made great choices, they are both human for better or worse. All this is, is a fight, not a moral war.

I don't think mayweather can deter pacquiao with his punching power...he don't sit down on his punches and he just potshots.....this is not the mayweather who had the leg speed against hatton...he has to stay in the pocket more and this is where pacquiao can be dangerous.....I saw it with maidana and cotto.....he backs up and counters with shots that don't do damage...after both maidana fights maidana was not even marked...he will also have to raise his punching output because pacquiao don't gas........when 2 fighters with equal foot and handspeed one with great defence and one with great offence it's gonna be about who wants it the most......

Good post. I think May will be able to hold Manny off with his right counter, or right lead though. But everything you said, I agree.

I really don't think May will use his shoulder roll defense against Manny. That defensive technique only works on right hander or orthodox style. He will definitely use high guard so that he can throw his left and straight hand more quickly.

It's really a hard thing for Manny and Freddie to come up with a perfect strategy, Freddie said that there are flaws on Mayweathers defense and they will try to expose it.

It will be a chess match with lots of holding, pot shooting from Floyd. Best thing for Manny is to capitalize every time Floyd make mistakes, and not only try to counter Floyds lead hand and his straight punches, but to initiate, initiate, cut the ring off effectively, and avoid Floyds clinching ability.

I said it before and I will say it again. Although Floyd is the most gifted defensive boxer in the world, Manny's style is all wrong for his defensive stance. The lack of south paw fighters with decent speed on their hands and feet will be the disadvantage of Mayweather. While Manny is by far the fastest fighter that Mayweather will face it will be an intriguing match up. How Mayweather adjust to Manny's aggressiveness, punches in bunches, ability to get in and out and punches from side to side will be the key to his victory. And it's up to Manny to avoid getting counter all night long, he have to negate that in order to discourage Mayweather from countering him.

Those straight right hand will be another huge task for Manny to conquer. But make no mistakes guys, it will be a very tactical match up with Manny mixing it up. When May adjust, Manny should change his tactics as well. Don't let Mayweather dictate the fight and same goes with May, don't let Manny get into his rhythm or it'll be a long night for him.

Everyone talks about Pac's punch output, but they forget to mention that Floyd's opponents punch counts go way down when facing him. The difference between Floyd and Manny is, Floyd can do WHATEVER it takes to win, because he does everything well in the ring. If he needs to up his punch count, counter, fight on the outside, inside, move, fight going backwards or forward, he can do it all. Pac, if he can't stop Floyd from timing him or KO him, he's DONE!
