    Bum Fight

Lomachenko's opponent Rodriguez is easy work, easy breezy.
I want to see a "real" challenge for Loma, this guy Rodriquez is a minnow in the shark tank. :ANYWORD:

Why is loma defending his title against a 35th ranked opponent?

Im sure if Bob wasnt involved in this fight we would get better undercards. I almost wish Manny was a Free Agent, then maybe wed have Haymon wait to put sum of the PBC fights on the undercard.

biggest fight in history and bob arum is destroying it with his ****ty undercard fights. I was looking forward to four awesome fights, now ill buy and just watch the main event

He's fighting the number 1 guy ranked by the wbo, which is his mandatory challenger just like piriyapinyo was at the time he fought him. Of course we all know that these rankings are a joke, but this would be the second mandatory he fights in a row. I just don't understand how someone call it a duck of rigondeaux, if they don't even fight in the same division and rigo hasn't even called him out. As for walters, he himself said on november of last year that there is nothing to gain in beating lomachenko because he only has 3 pro fights(at the time he had 3 fights)(shouldn't that be considered a duck by walters?), the article i read that on was actually on this website, so please don't say lomachenko is ducking rigondeaux and walters, because that's not true.

They want him to look good in order to build a fan base. There is no other reason. There are lots of better challenges out there without risking too much.

35th? What is that his boxrec ranking?

Is that an accepted thing now?

Yup, so this is how it goes, Bob throws Lomachenko into the deep end than slowly reels him back to the shallow end...I think Vasyl would build a better fanbase if he stayed in the deep end and fought quality guys instead of fighting showcase fights.

let's keep in mind this is on the undercard of a HUGE fight.
there will be a ton of casual fans.
this is the only occasion where i'd like to see loma fight some "meh" fighter

Lomachencko(4 rank) was planing to fight SIMPIWE VETYEKA(7 rank) as the highest available opponent, but S. VETYEKA declined offer to fight in bigest event of recent times(info directly from Lomachenko Sr. interview). What other option Loma had? JHONNY GONZALEZ(1 rank)vs Russel Jr, Gradovic (5 rank) vs Selby (8 rank), Donaire (6 rank) vs William Prado(28.03) in 122 lb., Abner Mares (3 rank) vs Arturo Santos Reyes(34 ranked by Boxrec)(07.03). And Nicholas Walters (2 rank) had no intention to fight Loma right now. So Loma will face 1rank WBO contender. The same Rodriguez that was planed for Walters in doublehader with Crawford, but: Flu forces Nicholas Walters’ withdrawal from doubleheader with Rodriguez - RING(c).So here you go - Loma taking best available fight to build fanbase and unify belts later.
