How so? Martinez and Williams were both already at middleweight when cotto had his 1st fight at sww. Martinez was just also stripped of his mw title, which he was fighting to get back. For all we know we coulda saw martinez-williams III. He's "overrated" to you, cuz you dksab

Sheguel Cotto needs to man up. She is acting like the b1tch she really is. Cotto won't be fighting Mayweather in september. Mayweather will fight Brook in september for the Undisputed Welterweight championship of the world.

Well am not expecting the fight and it would be a mismatch, I don't think Cotto needs to vacate or fight GGG neither, how is GGG a mandatory when he is a champ from another organisation? Isn't that against the WBC rules? So a champion can now be forced to fight another champion? I would like to see the WBC do this with all their other champs.

For those Cotto fans saying Cotto shouldn't fight GGG because he has earned right to choose who he wants, he isn't a true MW and could make $$$ elsewhere, and we all know what the result would be, cool thats not the issue. Its really simple leave the 160lb divison fight Rios and Bradley and whoever the **** else you wanna fight in your own divison 147 & 154. If Cotto was just a belt holder it wouldn't matter but he is holding the Lineal championship hostage, leave already so a real 160 fighter gets crowned and defends the title with actual 160 fighters.

Golovkin returned last week in Monte Carlo, where he stopped the WBC's silver champion Martin Murray in the eleventh round of action.

The World Boxing Council is allowing Cotto to make a voluntary defense, but then they expect him to face Golovkin.

I used to like Cotto, especially after what happened in the first Margacheato fight. But if he doesn't want to defend his title (the one he beat a one kneed 40 year old man coming off a year layoff for) then vacate.
Bradley or Rios for the middleweight title? That would be a disgraceful defense and shouldn't be allowed.

                    Pipe down!!!!!!!!!1

Everybody PIPE DOWN!!!!! Listen to Cotto. Why? Because he's given us all of the important fights he needed to give us, as fans. At this point, Cotto can do whatever he wants. Who is to say that he isn't going to fight GGG? Who says he has to? He's bled, sweated, and cried in the ring for us for years. He can do what he wants and fight who he wants. Lay off of Cotto. Real talk. You ******s whine and complain like little girls about the wrong things.

Just for entertainment purposes, bear with me.

Can you imagine if Mayweather had won the MW title from Martinez, and said No Organization owns my career? LOL.

Skip Bayless : He's was afraid of Pacquiao, now he's afraid of Glovokin

Dan Rafeal : Mayweather doesn't want to fight him

Lol, it would be all over ESPN and every other boxing website.
