I think the main issue here is the belt, lineal title and Cotto's name. If Cotto doesn't want to fight Golovkin then he should at least leave the middleweight division. It seems everyone understand why he shouldn't face Golovkin although he is free to face him.

if it wasnt for the man being beaten with brick and forced into a cw by bob arum...i wouldnt agree with this...cotto paid his dues and the fact that is he is no real mw i dont care if i ever see ggg face him...i actually would respect the fight at 155 more than 160...simply bc ggg has said he can make 154 easy..at 160 cotto dies and ggg looks even more overattated for beating a dawgon old blew up jr mid

I don't even consider this a duck. It's just such a given that he doesn't really belong at middleweight that no one should have ever expected him to fight Golovkin. He took a risk with Martinez, and it paid off, but we all knew it would be a temporary reign.

Sure thing, Migs. I respect him for that, and how he's elevated himself to that level through hard work. But he needs to "shit or get off the pot" or (I don't know if this is even a phrase) "don't piss in the pool if you're not jumping in yourself". The title he has means nothing to him, but means the world to those below him; up-and-coming challengers who are not currently on the PPV superstar level that he is.
If he's holding out for a Mayweather fight this year, and has no intention of honouring his mandatory to Golovkin, then he is outright disrespecting the real MWs who are working hard to get to the top of the division. I like Cotto, but he shouldn't use his superstar status as a sort of unattainable throne that no other fighters can challenge.

like a boss no1 tells cotto what to do this is what fighters should do instead of signing contracts and getting owned by these fat scumbags cotto fights on his terms
