Not if Floyd uses the lead hand to occupy Manny's frontal vision and sneak the straight right downstairs. If Floyd just leads in with the straight right downstairs without using his lead hand, then yeah, Manny can see him coming and react in time with a right hook counter.

As Manny stated why there is no rematch clause, he said he's the one who said no to rematch. He said if he agrees to the rematch that means Floyd will still get the lion share on the second one, because Floyd will insist that he will have the lion share in that same contract. Great move by Manny, so when the fight ended in controversy and it depends on what the outcome of the fight, Manny and his camp can now have the say so on their next fight. Imagine when Manny wins the fight? All the aces are in his hands. BOOM! Got his titles and be the boss on the rematch negotiation. Really smart. If Floyd wins, NO WAY IN HELL WOULD THERE BE A REMATCH. Unless it was razor sharp close like Floyd-Maidana I and there is no other alternative. Or unless the outcome was in doubt like Floyd-Castillo I.
I feel like this fight has been built up so much, I don't know. I just have a funny feeling Manny is going to win. Just a weird gut feeling.Comment

I never knew Mayweather have that devastating power punch. Especially at his age right now. Do you know something that we don't know? Is Memo part of his camp for this fight? Please do enlighten us.Comment

The way Manny lunges in at times, it wouldn't shock me to see a flash knockdown. I don't think he'll go down multiple times, though. I don't think he'll go down at all, but I could see it.Comment

It will come down to who can use their lead hands to control the fight. Manny likes to use lead hand to set up his 1-2-1 attack when his opponents drop theirs, but he instantly goes on the defensive high guard and backs up in a straight line when his opponents try to retaliate with more than one flicking jab set up. If you constantly have your lead hand up, Manny will have a hard time to use his pawing jab to set up the straight left. He hates standing there and negotiate lead hand control. He'll either try to move to your right to get on the inside of your lead hand or he'll get completely get reckless and still try to run through your lead hand with the jab-straight left- jab combo, but you can easily nullify that attack and use his own aggression against him like i showed y'all with that JMM gif from their second fight.Last edited by Carpe Diem; 02-26-2015, 03:52 PM.Comment

Great analysis, Floyd have so many weapons in his arsenal that it really is hard to figure him out. Being said that. After the Canelo fight Floyd somehow slowed down. He can easily outboxed and out maneuver Marcos in their first fight but he couldn't. Even on their second fight Maidana was still able to tag him. Manny is faster and have more stamina than Marcos. He might not have the same power like Marcos does, but make no mistake, he can put Floyd on his butt once he land his straight right/cross on Floyds chin.Floyd usually throws the left jab to the stomach against orthodox boxers, and the straight right hand to the stomach against southpaws. Floyd can slowly walk him down behind the lead hand. He just needs to paw it while cutting the ring off and Manny will either pivot out to another angle and both of them will reset or Manny will back up in a straight line with his high guard up, and Floyd can easily keep the lead hand on the front of his Manny's face and throw the straight right downstairs.
Most Pacquiao fans get mad when they see someone say Floyd can walk Manny down. They automatically think he'll just walk up to Manny with his face open and both of his hands down begging to get KTFO. This isn't how he walks his opponent down.
He sometimes does it in the high guard stance which i am not a fan of because he's cutting the ring off in a wide stance and can't really effectively cut off the
distance, but he also uses the lead hand to drives his opponent backward while the lead hand is also utilize to keep his opponent occupy enough to set up his offense.
As for his jab to Manny's body, that means he'll be open to Manny's counter. I know a lot of Floyd fans think Manny can't counter, I disagree. His high guard will be nullified by Manny's fast combinations. Best thing for Floyd is to hold, pot shot, hold and circle around the ring. Once he gets tired and try to take a breather, Manny will be all over him. I don't get it, where is this people think that he can walk him out that easily? Freddie and Manny will come up with strategies to nullifies any of May's defensive and offensive schemes, believe that.Comment

Pawing jabs is also a bad idea against pac, he counters them well. You seem to forget that Pac is actually pretty good defensively against jabs and historically, Floyd doesn't use his jab against southpaws other than a range-finder and to set up his right. Not if Floyd uses the lead hand to occupy Manny's frontal vision and sneak the straight right downstairs. If Floyd just leads in with the straight right downstairs without using his lead hand, then yeah, Manny can see him coming and react in time with a right hook counter.

i think mayweather knows he has to be the aggressor in this fight. mayweather on back foot vs pacquiao on front foot in my mind is a 50/50 fight. manny cant fight too well back peddling so floyd would have a huge advantage if he could effectively be the aggressor.Comment

Hey folks...of course Pacquaio is gonna get hit! He gets hit in every fight..but he also dishes out tons of shots himself..if Floyd can get out of this fight looking the way he usually does then I'll say he's the best defensive fighter ever for sure.. Everyone who's beaten Pacquaio has had to go through hell to get that win and they knew they were in a fight either way. Let's see if that's the case May 2nd..I think it will be, and it will make it a great fight..Comment
