I honestly thought Maidana did a great job in their first fight. I thought he landed some real good shots and stayed real busy to the point where I thought he sweeped the first 6 rounds.

The second fight on the other hand I thought Jr. was on his bike and made it almost impossible to let Maidana get in a do his work like he did in the first.

With that, I don't think he did enough overall damage to affect Jr. because Jr. looked even better in the 2nd than the first which shows there was no persisting ailments that the first fight may have caused.

I think Jr. and Pac are just about equal terms these days if you want to say both slowed down. They probably both slowed down equally. Saying Pac gets hit more often or was KO'd just comes down to style. If Jr. was an aggressive offensive fighter, guess what? He'd be KO'd just as often and taking a lot more damage than a fighter who does not...

IMO Mayweather is overrated... but I give credit where credit is due. Also you are disregarding Manny too much.
No he is not and this is coming from a fan of both....

I would attribute Floyd's showing to distractions outside the ring. Something was completely off with him in those fights. He looked lethargic. It probably won't be the case in the Pac fight.

Yes he did take a piece of floyd.

Floyds legs arent as strong.Maidana showed that. Floyd had to literally avoid the fight in fight 2 ,not fight as much to be able to move the way he did in fight 2.he moves too much vs pac people will say he ran.this is floyds fight to lose,if he allows manny to outwork him early its over.be like a 8-4 pac UD.imo bradley and algeiri prepared pac for a survival type floyd .. floyd stands and fights he gets peppered.
floyd wont be able to set up as many traps vs manny .he still doesnt know pacs timing like jmm.i think pac thinks he was put on earth to beat floyd. Floyd is underestimating the lil guy.

He couldnt do fight 1 and fight 2 mixed game plans in fight 2.he would of gassed out. Fight 1 he looked sloppy and had bad timing.
layed on the ropes and he got hit easier then ever before.
his reflexes have slowed some ..the most damaging punch was the ok nenin fight 2 rd 3 missed pull counter. Floyd got rocked.ill give floyd this, his recovery is tremendous because he is in such great shape. He has a good chin and should since he has been boxing his whole life.

Manny can hit floyd if maidana can. Manny can close the distance a lot quicker much like hatton did early on.

Floyd is in a real fight here. Floyd has average power and he
only throws 2 punches at a time at most. Manny can do what calzaghe did to old rjj.

I am a big Maidana fan and he did well in both fights. Mayweather is tough as nails and a real pro. Getting roughed up by Maidana will have absolutely no effect on his performance in the Pacquiao fight. Mayweather will be 8 months older and that may slow him down a little but Pacquiao will be older too. If Pacquiao beats him he does it on his own. Maidana didn't do any permanent damage to Mayweather in my opinion.

No. But Floyd's age showed a bit.

Maidana earned a draw in the first fight and caused the most damage in the second. Permanent damage? Give Floyd some credit. The guy might be a woman beater but ornery tough. Pacquiao better have the mindset that Floyd won't crumble!

I don't think so. Floyd was affected by Maidiana's Power in the second fight. The first fight was Floyd being Floyd. That is his bad habit. If you get him to the ropes and throw a lot of punches. He will let you throw them. Which I question if Manny will be able to do because of his size. This is why Floyd lost rounds to Oscar, Cotto, etc. Floyd looked like his normal self until he got caught be the big shot in the third round. Floyd had to give up the next round to recover and that shot threw off his timing. Maidana was the first fighter to counter his pull counter. He had to be weary when throwing his favorite punch against Maidana. I mention again "No one else has successfully countered Floyds Pull counter". Canelo tried and was schooled. I give a lot of credit to Maidana. I give credit to Floyd because he made sure he did not get caught with the big shot again but that affected the timing of the punch. Also rewatch the 8th round. I personally believe Floyd faked the glove bit. Just seconds before Floyd stated he got bit Maidana hit him with a looping right hand that Floyd did not see. The camera was at Floyd's back when the shot was landed but you can see Floyd's hand get rocked back. Maidana then hit Floyd with another right a second before Floyd said Maidana bit him. Floyd disguises when he is hurt very well. Maidana did not even know Floyd was hurt that bad. This is why Floyd lost three of the last four rounds on all of the judges scorecards. If those shots would not have landed Maidana would only have won 2 rounds. So in my opinion Floyd was Floyd but Maidana's power made him play it safe with him already being up on the cards. Floyd picks up a fighter's rhythm and Maidana has no rhythm for Floyd to pick up on.
