The reaction to the player's comments was ******, but the player is even more ******.

Everybody knows Pac sucks at b-ball, but there is a reason he's on a pro team. He has power, money, influence, and a rabid fan base ready to rush to his defense over any criticism.

This guy should've known to keep his mouth shut for his own good and just go with it. Instead he's the little kid in the room telling everyone that the emperor has no clothes.

To be honest - Manny probably IS as influential in the Philippines as MLK was to African Americans in the USA.

It is a clumsy comparison, that's all.

this is actually normal to philippines basketball. suspension is common occurence if you criticize publicly your coaches or fellow players. live broadcast commentators often get suspended for saying something negative about a player.
every player got an alias to hype him up- even those who got very limited skills.
pba's marketing strategy is to hype players- commentators or players criticizing other players kills the hype.

the pba is one of the more popular basketball league in asia despite its lack of talents.

Ha ha ha that's ridiculous, it reminded me of the time fillipinos tried to beat up the Beatles for not showing up to their dictators' wife's breakfast
