I think he would have a good shot to beat any of them. They are all great and so is he. Hearns was best at 147 and 154 and had problems with big punchers of 160 pounds or more. I think he KOs Hearns because he is vastly superior to Iran Barkley. I see Hagler and Hopkins as even fights and I think he could beat Toney. His opposition is good but he makes them look bad. He has the best record of any middleweight champ in history. He can't go back in a time machine and fight the same guys those great middleweights fought. You have to judge him on what you see. I see a fighter who has never been off his feet or even noticeably hurt. I see a fighter who can throw 1000 good punches a fight. I see a fighter who is a decent boxer with terrific power and accuracy in his combinations with both hands. He is the best body puncher I have ever seen and I saw all the great middleweights in this thread.

He faced a lot of average fighters, just like Floyd does today. Triple G would HIT Roy, rather you like it or not. I don't care how fast he is. Fast doesn't beat Triple G. Heart and the ability to take a punch and pain, does. Roy was a prize fighter, not a fighter at heart. Floyd and Roy are often overrated on this site. You guys think they are better than what they are.
RJJ was FAR from overrated! And every fighter faces average fighters but that is neglecting the ATG's and top names Jones fought that GGG hasn't come close to facing, let alone beating. And FAST was not the only thing Jones was. He was the full arsenal of movement, angles, speed, and power. Not now not ever does GGG belong in the same breath as Jones. Come back when GGG has become a great, that is IF he can become a great and see where he fits in the landscape of all time. A poll on who would win between the two would be an overwhelming landslide for Jones.

He is worth mentioning in the context of those guys. He is smart, durable, hits like a mule, and carries his power all night long.

I mean at this point he has really cleaned out the division. And fought some really solid fighters and just walked through them and made them look substandard.

            Thats what great fighters do.

RJJ was a great fighter and HOF'mer. He's not an ATG in my book. He is the fastest fighter I've ever seen in a boxing ring BUT that still doesn't make him tough. You are just looking at his offensive skillset. You are not looking at the fact that he did amateur tactics like fight with his hands down all the time. Hmmmm. A fighter with a good jab would bust him up on that one punch alone. And we haven't even talked about his arrogance back then. He thought he was untouchable as you've stated. LoL. Well, I know better. I give a fighter their props but I am not ******. Triple G is fundamentally sound and would most likely KO Roy. I am sticking to that. You are right about Triple G needing a serious challenge his next outing. He is trying very hard to fight the best. Cotto should just go ahead and fight him. I would, anyway.

In your "book" doesn't speak for the volumes of fans, experts worldwide. Jones is an ATG. Not up for argument, not up for debate; it is a non-negotiable. He fought fighters with solid, text-book jabs and still beat them. He used a jab when he needed to and had an unorthodox style that propelled him to greatness, like many other greats who used an unorthodox style to their advantages. Like I said, Jones would win a poll in a LANDSLIDE. Not arguable, not up for debate, anymore than Jones's position as an ATG.

Okay. Yeah, Jones would be a huge favorite. I am going to watch Jones vs Lacy before I crash. Jones gave him a beating! It's so fun to watch.
