I love Cotto, and think getting a real trainer has actually improved him, even at the tale end of his career.

On the other hand , what the heck is he doing , just planning on tieing up the belt till he is stripped??? I just don't get what's going on with him now. He can be "War Cotto" or well deserved retirement Cotto. But he needs to make up his mind.

Excellent post. Cotto is my number 2 favorite active fighter and I wanna support him but this post is spot on.

You know what I find funny? When people say Cotto is ducking GGG and then the Cotto lovers say "well Martinez ducked GGG for years" as if that somehow makes it ok. Cotto needs to fight a real MW doesn't even have to be Golovkin if he doesn't he should just give it up to the real MW king.

This is why cotto gets hate even from his supporters, we have no clue what he's gonna do. It's probably gonna be something reprehensible as ****. How long are you guys gonna tolerate him not fighting a real MW as he holds the strap hostage just so he can secure a big payday.

Peasants are quiet when a peasant hero has NO interest in fighting GGG but pull out their dusty bullhorns when it's Cotto who is not fighting GGG tomorrow as per their wishes. Cotto was dying to rematch Floyd who happens to be the best fighter period. So this notion of Cotto ducking a weak payday VS GGG in favor of a bigger payday for fighting Floyd and trying to avenge a loss, is foolish peasant logic 101.

I agree about cotto wanting that Floyd fight, everyone wants it. However the way he's trying to get it by keeping the title hostage by fighting either of those names Arum brought up is reprehensible and by no means defensible. I mean he could fight Mora and at least that would be a MW. A **** fight but I wouldn't mind as much if it happened.

I actually like Cotto but facts are facts and Cotto is holding the lineal middle weight championship hostage. That plus Cottotards act like the Martinez win was legit.

Martinez ducked GGG to fight the smaller guy now you're mad because you picked the wrong guy, knowing Sergio had a bum knee. You don't get to use it as an excuse after the fact because you backed the wrong horse. Sorry, doesn't work that way.

Golovkin deserves his shot at THE middleweight championship a hell of a lot more than Cotto deserves another payday. If Cotto isn't going to give Golovkin that shot, then drop the belt and get your payday elsewhere so Golovkin can fight for it against someone else.
