SRR is seen as the GOAT because of several reasons.

        - He utterly dominated and cleaned his best division WW. He is the GOAT WW no debate.
        - He moved up to MW and took some solid wins. He is seen as around top 3 ATG at MW. I rank him just behind Monzon and Hagler.
        - His style was modern and innovation for 40s-50s. His style could have carried him until 70s.

He is boxing historians' favourite fighter for a reason. He deserves his place but he ain't unrivaled. Greb, Langford and Armstrong have a case for the first place too. Canelo is also threat for him in a possibly back to back wins at 175 which SRR failed or being undisputed at 160.

Seems you have quite the obsession. It's obvious what your agenda is: "Muh boy Floyd Mayweather is the GOAT."

No he's not. He fought once every six months, often not against the best opponent available, and hen pecked his way to victory. Uninspiring nonsense.

the pre 70s was a different era. A lot of guys had massive padded records. A lot of the pro boxers all had day jobs, only a very very few could make a living fighting. So you had a few guys at the top who got to train all day fighting guys working 10 hours at a meat packing plant and then everyone worshiping them saying oh look they got 50 wins.

Honestly most competitive era was probably the 90s when boxing was still big but there was enough money that a lot of contenders and journeymen could box full time.

Think about how many gyms closed since the 90s, a ton of them. So that was the peak era.

Yeah there were a ton of registered pros in the 30s-60s but those guys had day jobs, nearly all of them.

Records are still padded now, they just take even longer doing it. Ricky Hatton is a prime example of a padded record in the modern era. Anyone think SRR would have had too many problems with Hatton at 147?

Wilder is another high profile guy with a padded record. The emphasis on retaining the "0" is a massive factor in this.

he stayed on top for nearly 18 years. Even if you hate him and dont want to give him #1 spot he is still a lock for top 5 for anyone unbiased.

I can watch every fight MIKE Tyson had and at age 19 he destroyed almost every top heavy weight and since I can rewatch it and watch IMMA say he's ****ing great --- I can only see a hand full off Robinson ---- he's great to my great grandfather but not to me..sorry.

U guys can't name 5 greats he's fought and 5 of those U won't be able to me their legacy traits --- why cause u don't know robinsons greatness except what old timers say..
The only greats U should be talking about is people U can actually say U seen but if u ain't seen it UR going off another dudes word of mouth play --- make your own mind up instead of what old histtorians say
First of all I love Mike Tyson but he ain’t the greatest at **** except he was really fast and spontaneous with his shots for a heavyweight. Also he had great KO power of course.

Folks with elite boxing skills and folks who were willing to take some hard shots to “bully the bully” always got him.

I feel you about mythical Robinson “always GOAT” and “always wins every fight” doe. Add I am only 38 years old and I do not have enough knowledge about him to say one way or another.
