In the beginning of 2009 the top 4 at welterweight was Cotto, Margarito, Mosley and Clottey. He fought Cotto later that year and in an 18 month period after that he fought the other 3.

Floyd came back but took another ducking vacation to get away from Pacquiao.

      Pacquiao cleaned housed.

Regardless of the outcome of the fight on may 2nd there will be a rematch, too much money to be made. Both men stand to make nearly half a billion dollars if not more from a trilogy.
I hope you're right! I think Manny would love a rematch, win or lose. But Floyd? The question is 0 losses (if he wins) vs. big payday all over again.

I definitely give Manny a better chance now than I would have then.
            Yup.........

Your response is no different than when white **********s get accused of racism when they slam *****. I guess you learn from the best dodgers. But, your sig is clearly racially motivated by aiming at a specific group.

Floyd already got what he wanted, he parlayed that zero loses into a fantastic bargaining chip for himself. Which is pretty genius itself. There isn't much left at this point but to cash out. The whole Marciano thing is overrated because if you look at how it's received throughout the decades it's a mixed bag of praise and criticism. Him going 50 and 0 would be a great marketing thing too but I don't think it would make him as wealthy as a trilogy. You also have to take into account the amount of people who will not want to see him break that record and toss in those who would love nothing more than to take away Haymon's trump card. I think the sheer amount of money to be made off this fight and potentially any rematches is too great for someone out there to not already be looking to cash in big time. I don't honestly care who wins but i'm not naive that both boxers are at risk of having their performances overshadowed by the house looking to win at the end of the day.

Winning a lineal strap and cleaning out a division aren't the same thing. Didn't Floyd win the lineal WW strap from Baldomir back when Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, Williams, etc were welters and it was arguably the best division in Boxing?

It was even an often repeated joke amongst commentators that "anyone who has a belt" will feel terrified; heck they were even throwing in Klitschkos' names in there.

It was way different when he was coming up essentially a career superfeather told to jump up to welter to face a career middleweight Oscar.
Pacquiao wasn't a career superfeatherweighr, and Hoya wasn't a career middleweight. Pacquiao started as a malnourished teenager at less than minimumweught. He was champion at flyweight, and gradually over the years gained weight as he had proper nutrition and training. Hes an 8 division champ, he wasn't a career superfeather. Hes definitely a small welterweight, but he's powerful. If he would have stayed at 140, I dint think he would have ever lost. Instead he stayed at 147 for the big money fights. I dint think anyone at 140 would ever give pacquiao any problems. I would like to see pacquiao vs. Winner of provodnikov mathysse. Would be a great match. Also Hoya was a 6 division champion I think. He didn't have a whole lot of success at middleweight as he did in the lower weight classes.
