  • Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao is Ready: I Love Being The Underdog!

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao may be facing the biggest fight of his career in undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather but he is taking it all in stride.

"This is just like any other fight I had before," he told reporters as he went through his regular training regimen in his hometown in the southern Philippines.

"I've been in this kind of situation many times in my previous fights. It doesn't scare me. I love being the underdog," said 36-year-old Pacquiao amid reports that oddsmakers in Las Vegas, the site of the May 2 fight, are giving his opponent the advantage.

its going to funny when pacquiao gets in there a see **** that he's never seen before. what will he do ? mayweather jr has seen pacs styles. a one dimensional south paw with speed and power. those will get taken away. what will pac do different? nothing because he can't.

One dimensional, yea sure thing buddy. Great clash of styles and I don't see this fight being easy either way.

The problem is that everyone says they love being the underdog. And against Mayweather, EVERYONE has been an underdog and the outcome has been the same. I will be pulling for Pacquiao but this is a whole new ballgame. He will need to prepare for a whole alphabet plan against Floyd.

Unless Floyd employs Marquez dirty tactics (one of the oldest in the book)

the foot stomping tripping of the lead foot then Floyd really found a way to adjust against Pac come May 2nd

Never seen before? He's seen a runner in Chris Algieri. He's seen probably one of the most annoying defense fighters in Joshua Clottey. Both of whom he annihilated.

Let's see, last time Jr. faced a fast horrible southpaw in Zab Judah, he had difficulties adjusting earlier and even had his glove touch the canvas.

My friend, it is Jr. whose in for something he hasn't seen before and probably wishes he didn't have to deal with. Speed, power, southpaw.

pac has NEVER lost as an underdog.

pac was a big underdog against sasakul, ledwaba, barrera and delahoya.

                all by ko, tko.

                pac tko 10 over floyd

SEEN and FOUGHT doesn't necessarily equate. It is an expected issue that Floyd's fans would "minimalize" or "marginalize" Pacquiao whereas Floyd himself was dubious in facing Pacquiao.

Obviously Pacquiao has never fought a Mayweather either. So it goes both ways.

For someone who has 64 fights and won 57 (lost 5) - a throwback in terms of the quality and quantity of fights - I would rather take this "one dimensional fighter" than someone who fights approx twice a year and "winning" cherry picks in 47 fights.
