Used to think Mora could last the 12, but now I realize that's not going to happen with paper fists. Golovkin showed some holes in the second round with some genuinely decent boxing from Murray, but after that Golovkin getting hit in the face was mostly about him not caring for Murray's power. Whatever strength Murray had was totally sapped away by the body shots.

I did not like what I saw. He barely used his jab and this is his best punch, I don't even think he landed 5 jabs on Murray and that's his calling card. He barely threw the jab, just like he barely threw it against Ouma and because of it these two fighter were landing at will. I thought murray's connection % was high and I am not gonna go by compubox.

I am starting to think more and more that Golovkin's best defense is his offense and when he's not using his jab his offense isn't as good and his defense is bad.

Against Curtis his jab was phenomenal and he probably got hit 5 times flush at the most in the fight.

Against Ouma I didn't see his jab and if I'd say that Ouma landed over 120 flush shots on him I wouldn't be lying. Murray maybe didn't land 100 flush shots cause he was on the run and tired but he did land a lot.

I know Abel want's him to be this terminator guy, but that was a bad performance, no jab and too square.

No it wasn't a bad performance from GGG.

You have to give respect to Martin Murray. He lasted 11 rounds because he is one tough mother fcker. But nothing he landed back really effected GGG

If you are a GGG fan you should be proud of your him. He passed the toughest test of his career tonight.

Kassim and now Murray are opponents without any power and they were landing all kinds of shots on GGG.
Murray being borderline feather-fisted is part of the reason why Golovkin neglected his defense at times. These punches had litterally no effect on him. This must have been extremely demoralising for Murray.

Also having no power has never prevented anyone from landing punches.

I know he wants his opponents to get ****y and open up, but he must do it without letting them tee off on him.
He was messing around in general throughout the fight in ways you don't usually see from him. Putting his hands down, waving them around, generally clowning.

GGG has to get hit with a shot that really makes him think twice before he actually does his best to avoid them. If he knows he can take a few, he'll lay the pressure on thick. **** is scary man.

I think it just depends on who he's fighting. Against a big puncher in Stevens we saw a more tight defense from Golovkin, he was certainly much more aware of Stevens punches. Against Murray he literally didn't care about getting hit because in his mind nothing Murray could land could hurt him. So against guys like Murray he's not going to display much defensive skills, but put him in the ring with a bigger puncher and you'll watch him fight smarter defensively. There are various ways to fight with his relentless offensive style and he's shown us variations depending on the opponents.

So you're saying you're a big GGG fan and i just checked your post history.. All in all you made two threads about GGG, one saying "I am a big GGG Fan but why isnt he fighting Ward?" and then you made this thread: "I am a big GGG fan but this was a bad performance"

yeah seems like you're a huge fan, just sayin

                    To the topic:

When GGG feels his opponent has not enough power he just takes the punches, its kind of being ****y and not giving a ****. If he fights someone with more power he will act differently.

I wouldn't look too much into it. He knew after round 2 that Murray had nothing for him and just abondobed his defense.

I don't think we'll really see his full arsenal until he faces someone who can earn his respect.
