    Full Mayweather-Pacquiao coverage

Like a stone thrown into the sea, Floyd Mayweather's odds are beginning to sink.

According to an ESPN report, Mayweather's odds to beat Manny Pacquiao have fallen to minus-180 in the MGM's sportsbook. For those keeping score, when the odds for both boxers in the fight were originally posted, Mayweather found himself floating above Pacquiao at minus-275.

MGM assistant sportsbook manager Jeff Stoneback told ESPN that three times more money has been bet on the underdog, Pacquiao, than on the favorite, Mayweather. According to that same ESPN report, one gambler at the MGM Mirage bet $50,000 on Pacquiao not just once, but twice.

Despite Mayweather's shrinking odds, ESPN did manage to confirm a couple large-scale bets on the undefeated fighter. Ed Salmons of the Westgate SuperBook told ESPN that a "large six-figure" bet was made in favor of Mayweather, and John Avello of the Wynn sportsbook said a "small six-figure" bet was placed behind the favorite.

And at the MGM, the total amount that has been wagered on the Fight of the Century is close to reaching a million dollars.

"For a month away, the handle is astronomical," Stoneback told ESPN.

When you're set to have Mayweather and Pacquiao inside the same ring, astronomical is to be expected -- it just comes with the territory.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA
LOL why are you laughing? If you understood anything about betting the closer the odds are the more you have to gain if your fighter wins. If the odds narrow, people betting on Mayweather to win will likely make even more money if he does in fact win.

This doesn't translate to Manny winning the fight. Heck, Shane Mosley was only a 2 to 1 underdog against Floyd and lost ten rounds to two lol. Don't get all excited.

    • Question to my Floyd fans, how did you react when Floyd got cracked by Mosley in the 2nd? How did my Manny fans react when JMM actually knocked Pac down (not the KO the KD) for the first time in 4 fights. I was just thinking how each fanbase would react if their fighter went down in this megabout.

It would be pretty lame if they don't any footage of Manny doing Mitts... It would be a first... I imagine the HBO hour long documentary will have footage...We'll have to wait I guess...I can't wait to see how ridiculous and gaudy Floyd's ring walk will be...Can anyone imagine a great like Marvin Hagler walking out with Justin Beiber... I'll just pretend this isn't what boxing has sunk to...

Very suprise and a bit disgusted when jmm knocked manny down. Before that kd I was up on my feet yelling and cheering pac on. After the kd I sat my ass down and started really concentrating on the fight because I knew Shiiet just got real lol.

I was in attendance for Mayweather-Mosley, I wasn't shocked when he hurt Floyd because I knew Mosley was dangerous early while Floyd makes his adjustments, but I was calm and not worried at all (my friend however was very frantic and worried) as I knew that Floyd would survive and then go on to dominate once he made the right adjustments, I wouldn't have been shocked if he went down, that fight went exactly how I predicted.

When Marquez dropped Pacquaio I was very shocked, because across the 3 fights he landed some very flush hard shots and never came close to dropping him, Marquez dropping Pacquaio was something I didn't expect at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pacquaio gave Floyd a flash knock down early in their fight, whereas I'd be shocked if Floyd dropped Pacquaio.

              • The other thread got deleted before I could post this, but these are some things I think Manny needs to do to win the fight:

Really, he needs to take everything good he did against Bradley, Oscar, Marquez and Morales eliminate everything he did wrong and put it all together. Just like Roach said, we need the perfect Pac playing to his strengths.

                Pacquiao's keys to victory:

Establish the right hand early. If you're only one-handed like Cotto you've only got half the chance of beating Floyd.

Don't let Floyd dictate the pace of the fight.

Don't let Floyd continually reset to a distance of his own choosing. (AKA cut-off the ****ing ring)

When Floyd does back straight into the ropes (which he will), don't let him tie up and spin you around onto the ropes. With Pac being the smaller man and considering the momentum he comes forward with, I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen a few times.

Stay active throughout each round, don't take 2/3rds off behind your guard and just let Floyd point away.

I remember watching Mayweather Mosley live and thinking to myself "Wow, they really studied Floyd" when Mosley landed that shot on him. I admit I was a little worried but I knew he could handle it.

But when Marquez dropped Manny I let out an " Oh ****!" and I was very shocked. I was actually happy Marquez got that KD.

And I disagree with you on the scenario of either guy knocking down the other. At this point I'd be much more shocked if Pacquiao knocked down Mayweather than vice versa. Pacquiao is constantly off balance and lunges in a lot while Floyd always has his feet well placed. I also think Floyd can handle a big shot better than Manny, especially at this stage of their careers.
