  • Give Arturo A Break Mr. Reno...

I see the angle you're coming from as I have heard it on here before. "Gatti is exciting, he's a warrior, huge heart..but he'll never win against the best". Yeah, this isn't new news. It's most people's opinion. Just not mine. And yes, I am biased cuz we're both Wops but that's not all. Gatti CAN win the big one. Heart sometimes may be enough! And Gatti has more of that than Mayweather will ever have. Mayweather, as great as he is...will ALWAYS be a thug with low character. And as far as Gatti's achievements, he is always sold short on what he has accomplished. Winning 2 titles is not something EVERYONE does! And lastly, contrary to what you or anyone else says, Gatti will not melt the first time Tszyu or Mayweather lays a glove on him!

Mayweather will make quick work of Gatti he will hit him at will and then run. By round 6 or 7 Gatti will be in trouble. And Gatti is not known for being some gentlemen outside the ring either. PBF is the man peace.

I adore Gatti, but I just dont see him being able to land much against Floyd..he's simply too fast and dodgy. As for Tszyu, I dont even want him in the ring with that man! Gatti tends to go toe to toe when the situation calls for it, and doing that with Tszyu will only be bad news for Gatti. I'm not putting him down at all, he is my favorite fighter today, I just know he has limitations and I know what they are..He has improved some with McGirt in his corner, but not enough to fight a mover like Floyd and a hugh power puncher like Tszyu! The money may be good, but Gatti makes plenty of that using his own name as the draw, which speaks volumes about him as it is.

        Gatti is what he is.

Im sorry but he would be hurt badly by Floyd or Tszyu. It would be like watching Vinny Paz fight Roy Jones again. Its just a brutal masmatch in terms of talent.

Hell Gatti has been beaten by guys like Manfredy, Ivan Robinson and had life and death struggles with 3rd rate fighters like Joe Hutchinson, Branco and Wilson Rodriguez.

Yes he has won two "World Titles", but lets be real here. He is not the Champion at 140 and he was shamelessy protected at 130. His people know have manuevered him right though out his entire career.

Just look at all the great guys that were fighting at 130-135 when Gatti was there. Guys like Shane Mosley, Genaro Hernandez and Stevie Johnston all top 10-15 p4p guys and his people didn't want to have anything to with them.

Now that he is up at 140 his people are pulling the same stuff. They didn't want a fight with Tszyu and they ran from Floyd.

His people are not ****** they know they would be throwing there meal ticket away if they let him fight a guy like that. Please dont bring up him fighting DLH. That was a win-win situation for him and his people he gets paid a ton of money and everyone knows who DLH is so there when he lost his reputation would not be hurt.

I wish Gatti was facing Tsyzu instead of mayweather. Mayweather is perfectly matched to whip Gatti. If Tsyzu was the opponent i`d favour Tsyzu but give Gatti a chance. Because of the KO of Mitchell people ( especially young fans who aren`t as old as Tsyzu`s career ) seem to regard him as so great. i remember him being floored very heavy early in his career, also KO`ed by Philips. He also is 35 yrs old and he has had only 3 rd of boxing in over 2 yrs. If Gatti is gona pull off an upset, this is the fight to do it, not Mayweather!

Tszyu suffered two flash knockdown against Hurtado. The fight with Phillips was due more to Tszyu punching himself out more than anything.

Tszyu is an all time great. One of the 3-4 best ever to fight at 140. He's ruled that division for a decade and has cleaned it out.

I`m not dening this, but Gatti's style would be better suited against Tsyzu than mayweather!

                I disagre.

If I was a Gatti fan I would rather him fight Floyd than Tszyu. Gatti is there to be hit and would you rather him take puches from Floyd or Tszyu?

Floyd would outclass him and probably win on points, Tszyu might murder him.

I love Gatti but like Italian250 and Rick Reeno said he will never beat the best out there. And yes any educated boxing fan knows this. We should appreciate Arturo Gatti for what he is...

A limited brawler/boxer with the heart and determination of a champion.

Gatti's best fights are against journeymen, Robinson and Ward. Name one A class level fighter that Gatti beat (Not Dorin who was way too small). Actually, name one A classs level fighter that Gatti even fought. Gatti has been stunned or hurt in just about every fight that went past three rounds. Stunned by guys that did not hit as hard as Tszyu or Mayweather. Mayweather and Tszyu fight the top opponents in their class over and over. Please refer to the Jay Larkin letter sent to BoxingScene about how Gatti ducked Tszyu, he has ducked Mayweather for years. Mayweather has been his mandatory since May of 04 and he has fought Dorin (coming from semi-retirement and now Leija (way past his prime). The only A class fighter Gatti fought was De La Hoya and he was almost stopped in one round.
