I expected to see some good fights and skills but found myself disappointed with both once the night was over. I had heard alot about the Calzage/Lacy fight and how great Calzage looked. I had great anticipation for Toney in his bout but found myself sickened by the 2nd round.

Toney is a talented fighter, make no mistake about it. But with obvious lack of conditioning he was able to show little against Rahman. As my trainer always said, fatigue makes cowards of us all. Being that I will be judging and refereeing soon in the pros I am unable to comment on the judging of the fight.

Easy assesment of the Rahman/Toney fight. If James would have showed up in shape he would have easily won the fight.

With Calzage, yeah he looked great when he sat down on his shots and let that straight left fly. But man, what a slapper. I must have counted atleast 50 or 60 shots that Lacy took that were landed with the side of the glove. People think that slaps dont hurt, let me tell you that they can do more damage than regular clean blows. I wondered if Lacys cuts and swelling around his eyes were not caused by those slaps. If the fight had not been in Wales, I wonder if the ref would have called him on it. There were plenty of oppertunities to call him on it.

Essentially, I left the television that night not disgusted but uneasy. Uneasy about everything from the fighters, to the reffing and onto the judging. Lets hope that this not continue into the future. If it does it will just continue what seems to be the downward spiral that has become boxing.

He did very well when he sat down on his shots. But now, come on Paul, can you say that he didnt slap in that fight.

He looked really good at times, at others he looked like a cat trying to fend off another cat. Like sub par amatuers slapping at eachother.

It just seemed to me like a boxing masterclass from Calzaghe, he might slap wth some of his punches, but i don't think that takes anything away from his performance, even the haters accept that Calzaghe put on a great performance, it was a boxing lesson for Lacy, and almost a total shutout.

And if you knew the game, the inside of the game, you would know how it works.

So if you knew whats what you would realize that your actually the one typing out of you arse.

Oh, its the old "lace them up" card. I thought you were better than that, but no. All this stuff just makes you seem like a bitter, washed up fellow.

Calazge looked good, really good at times. Please tell me that he was not slapping alot.

You guys call me a hater and all of that, its cool. You have your opinion just like I have mine of the slapping. I viewed it objectivly and in an unbiased state.

Calazge is multiple times better than Lacy, it was obvious. As was the slapping that Calzage did. You guys think that those slaps dont hurt or do damage, let me tell you that they do. Even without the slaps he could have easily handled Lacy.

It's just the way you said it man, like if you had of said Calzaghe put on a great performance, but it was just a shame about the slapping, then it might not have sounded as bad, it's just the way it came across, thats all.
