  • Comments Thread For: Martin Murray: I Don't See Any Weakness in Golovkin

Martin Murray admits Gennady Golovkin is yet to show any signs of vulnerability as he prepares to face the WBA middleweight champion this weekend.

The unbeaten Kazakh is considered one of the most fearsome fighters in the sport after racking up a chilling run of 28 stoppages in 31 victories.

Murray will try to end this air of invincibility when he battles Golovkin in Monte Carlo this Saturday and has already proved his mettle in two world title fights.

Felix Sturm was pushed to a draw by the St Helens man in 2011, while he floored Sergio Martinez in a contentious points loss, but Murray believes he is battling his toughest foe.

I'm remembering what Mike Tyson said about everybody having a plan till they get hit. Murry says he has 10 plans rolled into one, but what Iron Mike said will probably still apply, considering how hard GGG is going to hit him.

I hope Martin gives a good account of himself, and altitude training definitely improves stamina, which is why the top long distance runners do it. He has one heck of a tough fight on his hands though.

Murray trained very hard on his stamina but there's no way to train his chin.he doesn't sound confident at all , already set up for failure. Once he gets hit he'll just try to survive.

I can find one right off the bat, he likes using his face to block punches. Problem is, MW is one of the weakest divisions, collectively having some of the weakest punchers in boxing. They are the second weakest weight class after Strawweight. So although GGG's weakness is that he likes to take a punch to land one, he has nothing to worry about when taking that punch since he's fighting some of the relatively weakest punchers of pro boxing. GGG will leave himself open for Murray, purposely, with really nothing to worry about with Murray's 39% KO ratio. Just like with Geale, he gladly took his weak punches to land one of his hard counter punches.

Another early night for GGG followers. He will continue knocking off all of the usual suspects and fine tuning his craft until an Alvarez or Cotto dare to be greater.

Just say he's going to knock you out and be done with it.
