In any event, you're probably right regarding Manny's straight left it helped Judah before he had his mental breakdown (as usual ).
Southpaw is a stance not what handed you are.

Sad that we're still calling this a "super fight." It's a super popular fight against two of the best fighters in the game well beyond their time. This is like Tyson-Lewis, the "super fight." Both were still destroying their opposition but were both pretty much spent fighters. Hard to call it a super fight when both fighters have already publically pondered retirement.

Cotto actually has a very good, very under-rated jab. He used it as an up-jab, he used it straight, he varied the speed and power of it, which made it difficult for Floyd to time and counter.
Even Maidana used a pretty decent jab.
Manny's RH has gotten much better. I think his volume of punches, if he can keep it up with all the holding Floyd will try to do, will be the key to any chance he has of winning. If he goes for the top of Floyd's head the same way Maidana did, he will have a decent shot.
The problem with Maidana was, despite having him pinned on the ropes for the first six rounds, Floyd would simply counter and walk him backwards at will, which told me he really wasn't all that bothered by Maidana's power or his style of attack.
As for referees.......it's kind of like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant in basketball.........they simply get the benefit of every call. You will NEVER see a point taken from Floyd......overall he's a very clean fighter. But he will make this a clench-fest to try and slow Manny down. If it works, it will be an easy night.
Hope it isn't......I don't have a particular rooting interest. I wouldn't bet against Floyd at this point but I think the KO suffered vs Marquez actually helps him in this fight. He is far more careful about jumping in and getting out of position, which I always thought would give Mayweather too many opportunities. But Manny's defense has gotten much better. Unfortunately, his jab hasn't by nearly as much.
But again, if he can manage 70-80 shots a round to Floyd's 40, he has the best shot of anyone at getting a decision. I think if he's getting tagged regulaly, Floyd will fight back. Too many people make the assumption that because Floyd doesn't go for the kill, that he's not capable of getting tough. See the Mosely fight if you have any doubts.......If Floyd does lose, I expect them to fight again in Nov.
I'm not sure Roach is such a great strategist as it is.....if some gameplan he comes up with goes past the third round, I'll be very surprised. He better have plans A-G and switch them up often. And I REALLY hope we get the controlled but also vicious Manny. That will make for the best possible fight.
Still not convinced it's any closer than 8-4 for Mayweather though........
