If there was an opponent worthy of forcing Canelo to a firm 154, surely he would fight there. If a Pac fight was offered at 154, I'm sure he would do it.

I believe he does struggle making that weight but truthfully there isn't a fight attractive enough to force him to that weight.

Some of Lara's fights above 154. To make it easier for his fans in denial.

all fighters start their career not trying to make weight and fighting slightly above their weight because they are just tune ups. they fight often and on short notice. canelo fights twice a year and with months to prepare. look at anyone on boxrec. floyd fought at 131, 132 etc until reaching world level. if you look at all of laras real fights ishe, trout, angulo, molina, vanes and williams were fought at the exact weight because the fights carried importance and he had time to prepare. canelos last 3 fights weren't tune ups, they were ppvs and yet hes still pulling this crap. 155 isnt a division.

Maybe he fought Lara at 154 because Lara has a paper belt

If Lara had the real belt maybe he woulda made 154

                vs canelo 155...
thats 10 fights out of 24, yet canelo has 2 out of almost 50 and you all come here to cry...
Lol those are early career fights, most a fighters have the exact same thing early on because they are fighting non ranked guys, etc. Look at any fighter, here random Kovalev. Go to his boxrec, all his early fights are slightly above 175. He's had more fights over 175 then under.

Now I see why they call Lara "The American Dream." He's been fighting at catchweights his whole career. From 2009-2014.

                  War Lara. War Catchweights.

                    • Making 154 is hard for him but doable. He will fight at 154 if it's for a world title but not if it's not for a world title. His last 2 fights were non fights and so is the Kirkland fight. He will probably move to 160 soon. 155 pounds is only 1 pound over the limit and most non title fights are fought a pound or two over the class limit so Canelo is not doing anything unusual.
