Even if your still hung up on the Garcia fight and think his jab did enough to take the belt from the champ in his fabricated comi g home fight he still lost to Benavidez.

I don't mind Herrera, don't like his style at all but the only belt he should have is the people champ belt and Unfortunatly it's invisible.
That is an ancient concept that doesn't even make sense. If you win more rounds, you win the fight. The champion should not get preferential treatment. Garcia lost.

Honestly could not believe the Benavidez scorecards, I had Herrera winning but it was close.

He's good but he isn't an elite fighter. Stop overrating him, he has three other losses, for example Mike Alvarado decisioned him, lol.
He is a solid fighter but also overrated because the Garcia fight. He has an awkward and for Danny especially awkward style but he is beatable.

He beat Dannys ass in his "home coming"

How embarassing Danny has a major ass wooping at 147.

Lets be Honest he beat all these fighters,

                Ruslan, Beat
                Garcia, Beat
                Benevidez, Beat

all the name that really matter he defeated.

Lucas, Broner, Garcia, Ruslan, Should be going after him to claim the real Claim to the accolade 140 KING!
While I thought Herrera won, he officially lost. He isn't the champion at 140, Danny is. GGG isn't the champ at 160, Cotto is. Posters need to just accept these facts and move on.

I do feel Herrera has been the victim of the slimy, underground politics of the sport. I will support his future fights.

To bad fans don't decide who is the official winner. I think Herrera deserved the win over Garcia but he was robbed and he is not the champion so there is no point other contenders going after the difficult opponent Herrera thinking they will be champion if they beat him because they won't. Herrera may deserve to be champion but in the real world he is not the champ. I think Lucas would beat him for real.

He's the champ in all but name, far more of a champ than Lamont Peterson is, or 143lb Garcia who he beat in the view of most.

Ive watched it twice scored it both times for Benavidez. 117-111 maybe a little to wide but the right man won the fight.

It was close and Hererra has a almost impossible style to look good against but a majority of his punches had no power behind them and add to it he doesn't have a name he is in the position where he needs to convincingly win and against Garcia and Benavidez he didn't he just made it competitive.

I could care less what The media or fans say I think most have a wrong perception of the fight because Lampmey did a horrible biased job announcing the fight and because Hererras become the lovable loser to hardcore fans so any close fight people are going to feel he deserves it.

He's not the champ though in anything he's a tough out that's it ,his people champ belt isn't something you can hang on the mantle because it doesn't exist.

Lamont's irrelevant Garcia should already have his belt but if he feels he wants to hold on to a belt he shouldn't have then so be it. It'll be interesting to see how he loses it though
I watched and scored the Herrera-Benavidez fight several times and had Herrera a clear winner by 2 points. Benavidez should have listened to his trainer and not laid on the ropes while the light hitting Herrera pounded away on him. I gave Herrera most of the rounds that Benavidez laid on the ropes. Benavidez can be a better fighter than Herrera if he fights smart but he fought ****** that fight and Herrera fought smart.
