Call it what you want. Prospect or young champion; but he has nothing to gain other than your irrelevant respect from fighting someone that is so much more skilled and experienced than he his and losing in the process.

He has to, IMO. Then that dude Jaguarsito gutierrez might become full champ or fight someone like rey vargas for the vacant title in Mexico. Then Rigo can go that route. Or he can just go to Japan and keep fighting there for good money.

Wait, why did ODH have a buyout clause in LSC's contract in the first place? Now he's complaining that Haymon exercised it to kill a fight with Rigo? I smell a rat. Make that two ****.

Santa Cruz cannot say no to al haymon. That's why his contracts are so powerful. It's the reason Quillin HAD to vacate. That, or he could have been in protracted litigation like Ward/Chavez/Garcia.

These boxers need representation when they're signing these contracts. They seem all positive, but their terms have already had a significant impact on several boxers' reputation and brand.

Bit defeatist? he had a chance to be great.

All these stars that we know today, De La Hoya, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto...they all made a name for themselves fighting the best coming up, you don't get to that level if you just keep taking the easy paydays.

That's why people need to stop pretending as if boxing is like any sport where the best automatically competes with the best, or winners compete with fellow winners... Get over it and move on.
