I still haven't clearly seen Garcia on noodle legs after a punch I believe his chin is one the best in the business. Not too mention he's a big boy at 140 and should be moving up to a healthier ball game. At 147 he's gonna be a tough contender to drown into a complete knockout.

Why was "THE MACHINE" unable to hurt Garcia?

The point I'm making is that regardless of whether Lucas was outboxing Danny or not, or whether the eye injury was a major factor or not, the fight still looked dramatically different to what most people expected.
Danny's resilience was part of the reason for that, but Matthysse resorting to boxing when faced with a boxer is the major reason in my opinion. He was cautious and tentative, and not at all the aggressive fighter we'd seen in the previous few fights.
He was still getting the better of it before the eye-injury, because like I said he's well able to box. But if we're asking why the fight didn't look the way we expected it to, it had more to do with Matthysse's surprisingly tentative approach than it had to do with Danny's chin.

It will be interesting to see how his chin holds up at 147, if he ever moves up that is.Last edited by Weebler I; 02-11-2015, 04:42 PM.

No larry , sure Lucas didn't hurt danny
Fighters piss blood from time to time. Pissing blood and being buzzed are two different things.
Lucas father: "Danny had my son's eye fcked up, bone fractured and had my poor son talking about retirement after that fight..."
Dude was talking RETIREMENT.
Danny throws that "retirement plan hook..."
