maidana has better options rather than fighting a guy he dominated and embarrassed

simple
Marcos Maidana just made $3m (plus whatever he was able to pick up on the Argentina TV rights and his sponsorships for the two fights), saw his profile jump massively among the Mexican American fanbase, is a pretty large welterweight, and is fighting at a time where Floyd Mayweather Jr is on his way out, with Pacquiao not that far behind him (unless he has to stay around to fight off that massive tax debt).
You add that Broner is now targeting a world championship at 140, and the rematch doesn't make much sense right now.
Maidana-Khan 2, Maidana-Thurman/Guerrero, Maidana-Lopez/Berto, and other fights (Maidana-Pacquiao, Maidana-Cotto, etc) are all fresh, meaningful fights (with meaningful paydays) that are open to Maidana now.Comment

Whats to see? Maidana won 10-2 if you're being generous to broner.Comment

Won every round, got 2 knockdowns, whooped that tricks azz.Wouldn't say he's avoiding or ducking Broner, he just fought Floyd twice in 2014 so can't really blame him.
But i will say this, he certainly doesn't seem keen on fighting him again. People will say that's because he whooped him the first fight but that doesn't tell the whole story, Broner finished strong and had always seemed keen on avenging that loss, maybe the two fighters know in their heart it would be different a second time.
Yes, it does tell the whole story.Comment

Why fight somebody you easily beat.....who hasnt done anything after the fight....moved down in weight....after you had x2 fights with Best fighter in the world

Maidana whipped Broner so bad that he ran to his dressing room like a scorned chick, and wouldn't give an interview until later. He's since dropped down to LWW after realizing he can't **** with the big boys @WW. A rematch is usually called for if a fight was close, or if the loser had an ailment which prevented him from performing his best. Neither was the case here, so Maidana owes Broner nothing.Comment

If Broner wanted a rematch so bad, why did he immediately drop down to LWW? Surely, he doesn't think Chino is ****** enough to drain himself to come down in weight & fight him.Wouldn't say he's avoiding or ducking Broner, he just fought Floyd twice in 2014 so can't really blame him.

I don't think it's the case here, but boxers can beat guys they're not so sure they can beat twice. If a fighter's taking fights that make less sense financially than the rematch, then you can make the argument they're ducking.Comment
