      for a couple fighters....

      ppl have different birthdays/bodies/careers.

not everyone is prime at the same time.

it's not like everyone roy/pea fought was at their peak.

That's my issue with him as well. The best fighter he ever beat at their peak was Castillo.

they don't have to be at their peak for it to count.

as long as they were still good.

hopkins/toney at their peak when roy beat them? no

              but still great wins.

So many other fighters are in with a great shout too especially Roberto Duran and Ray Leonard.
Both Leonard and Duran rate higher than Pacquiao.

Agree, but it must be acknowledged that they at least have a better case than the utter drivel that has been polluting the board lately proclaiming the greatness of Klitschko the younger.

I get your point-but Castillo was the best LW in the world, a southpaw (which is often cited as problematic for Floyd), and that was the 1st 2 fights Floyd had at that weight.

Is there a more difficult way to step into a new division?

There is a huge ****ng difference between beating Chavez in 93 and Nelson in 90 and beating De La Hoya in 07/08 and Mosley in 10/11.

The notion that Whitaker is inferior to either Mayweather or Pacquiao is just ****** and wrong.
