    • leonard
      whitaker
      hagler
      duran
      lopez
      hearns
      hopkins
      mayweather
      RJJ
      pacquiao

i cant say thats in definite order, i keep moving names around and im still not entirely satisfied so i just let it be. ask me tommorow and i would give you a different order. but as for the guys within the top 10, thats pretty solid. as much as i cant stand the man, leonard being number one is pretty solid too.

after writing this i get the feeling i made a post just like this in this exact thread.. **** it..

edit: mccallum should be on this list but i dont know who to take out, pacquiao should be higher too but i dont know who to bump. hard to separate between fighters this great.

Because he's beaten amazing fighters at ever weight class he's fought. Look at his resume! Look at the fighters he's beaten. It's an absolutely sensation record.

Pacquiao is Henry Henry Armstrong reborn.

        • For me it's Hagler.
          Then Pacquiao
I would have placed Duran in front of PAC if he wasn't for him quitting in the rematch. But Duran's ability was amazing. If he stayed disciplined outside of his fights, he could've done more.
          ...
          then Leonard

If PAC beats Mayweather, I'll reassess my position.

          • My ranking...also takes into account fighters ducking/retiring/gift decisions...etc.

That's why I have leonard ranked a little below. But he was obviously a great fighter.

Hagler's very near the top but the way Pac has consistently been the smaller guy over and over over and over swings it for me.

If Pac beats Floyd he will reach Robinson/Muhammed Ali/Armstrong/Langford status.

Wasn't a problem to fight a 34 year old man with one fight in three years, but evidently was when he pulled out of a fight with Winky Weight after having given it the big one.

And what part of Pryor rejected the fight are you having trouble grasping?

So at the time Hearns wasn't as big as he is now, sure he was considered to be a threat, but Corrales was a huge threat to Mayweather also and Floyd called him out, fought him and KOed him out in one of the most dominating performances I've ever seen!

LOL @ this dopey Kraut attempting to equate Diego Corrales with Thomas Hearns.

Floyd couldn't have bought out his contract on Friday and then tried to make business with Arum (a Margarito fight) on Monday! Let's be real for a damn second here, Margarito was probably cheating for a big part of his career, he was probably cheating against Cotto, which is the defining win of his career, and on the same night he got caught what happened to him? he got KTFOed against Mosley who nobody gave a chance, he got F'ed up by Pacquiao and KOed by Cotto and guess who fought the guy who first KOed Margarito (Mosley), yes, it was Floyd Mayweather, he fought Mosley when Mosley was coming off a very impressive win against Margarito.

The **** does any of this have to do with Mayweather twice turning down Margarito?

Even if people win titles they don't really deserve nowaday, Floyd made up for it by consistency, Mayweather is 24-0 in title fights, Leonard was 10-2-1, Duran was 12-7, Hearns was 15-4-1 and Hagler was 15-1-1.

Why are you still throwing out these meaningless statistics? Zsolt Erdei's record in championship fights blows away Ezzard Charles, too.

JCC got some gifts against Taylor, Whitaker, and And didn't have Jones' talent

Jones has half his fights, beat more champs and title holders, won titles in more weight classes, and talent wise JCC couldn't carry his joke strap....JCC is great but was no where near as talented as jones

And Jones was nowhere near as fundamentally sound or well-rounded a boxer as Chavez. Taking into account actual skills and not talent, Jones is the inferior fighter.
