Putting Floyd in his Place

That's true. As great as Duran was, he has some embarrassing and totally one sided losses on his resume. Which includes Kirkland Laing who made Maidana look like Sugar Ray Robinson. Also Benitez who totally dominated and embarrassed Duran.Comment

You can't argue that Ray Robinson the greatest fighter of all time wasn't utterly dominated by Ralph Tiger Jones who was an actual journeyman. Not a world champion like Maidana. An actual journeyman.
Ray Robinson had the speed advantage in every fight he had aswell.
Also to say he "always had the upper hand" is also not true.Comment

Back then Corely was a good, tough fighter. He had just lost to Zab Judah who had been KOd by Tszyu not long before. He was also a southpaw with good power and Floyd's first fight at 140 pounds. A fight where Corely tested and hurt Floyd pretty good. Corley went on a span of fighting Zab, Floyd, and a young Cotto. He lost those fights but has his moments in all of them. Hell, I still think they stopped the Cotto fight much too early. He hurt Cotto bad in that fight.
But anyways, Looking at Corely NOW or what became of his career, it's easy to bash the win. But in context, it was a good win. Not great, or fantastic, but good.Comment

You can't compare Tiger Jones to Maidana they're completely different levels.
It's funny that Floyd get's critisized for having an "arguable draw" with Maidana yet the greatest fighter of all time was dominated by Jones, who again was an actual journeyman.
That's like Floyd getting dominated 12-0 by Rod Salka.
Imagine that.Comment

Absolutely. But some people aren't really genuine when assessing his career. I mean, I've seen and heard guys say he's never beat ANYONE and that he ducked all the best fights in his career. I'm like, ok, have a good day, sir.Comment
