the problem is, Marquez wiling to engage/risk but floyd don't. Like now, its been 5 years and floyd still hesitant to fight Pac.

Floyd doesn't have to take risks if the other fighter can't make him. JMM didn't walk away from a fight when Manny said no to testing, he just beat his a$$. Manny. as we all know but his fans like you will never admit, walked away from the fight over testing.

The thread topic is Manny thinks fight will happen. IMO this means as of now he isn't going to walk away again. That's a good thing.

It's relevant only from a style perspective. JMM found ways to score effectively against Manny. Floyd is bigger, better balance, stronger, faster, smarter, quicker, longer and better in JMM in almost every way. I think it was Lou Dibella a few years ago who referenced same as being the reason Manny/Bob didn't want fight.

Granted Floyd looked very slow in the last Maidana fight and IMO lost quite a few of the "middle of the ring" exchanges with Maidana in the 1st fight so at least for me its going to be closer than I had thought all the other times the fight looked close.

Its not a triangle theory, its a comparison of "similar style opposition.

he's not stronger than hulquez, and he's not smarter than marquez, luckily in boxing physical traits are a biggy, you can get away with alot when you're a speed demon

mayweather fights nothing like marquez, he doesn't know how to fight on the backpeddle aswell as marquez, he is either a fairly stationary target just swiping ineffectual left hooks(which is one of the reasons he has hand problems) and right hand lead arm punches at you or he's full on running and threatening to gas, and if he doesn't run then he's on the ropes, the guy is nowhere near the mover marquez is, he has speed and at moments can skaddle alot faster, yes, those traits

his only right hook is another wide swiping punch with his chin high up in the air, it's not working vs pacquiao, and besides his fear of punching with the opponent without nearly shtting himself(which is why you see him on the defensive so often), he seems to also have a deadly fear of turning on pressuring opponents so is seen on the ropes alot, he fights tall, rarely low, and when he does he doesn't know how to, gives too much of his back to the opponent, the manuever of a defensive minded boxer, not thinking enough offense, not to mention when he ducks a punch he does it like bradley and pacquiao will probabley pin-point his head and hit him while turning the sht outta him, marquez never ducks like that, he's always watching and fienting at pacquiao, and the obvious marquez is constantly fighting where mayweather will shell up when faced with pressure

The key is Floyd's reach. he has unusually long arms like Iverson or scottie pippen. It enables him to fight at distance that other fighters his size simply can't.you make interesting points and are entitled to your opinion. Dibella sais something along the same things I am pointing out.

I think there is a reason Floyd is a 3-1 favorite. Again, you have good points but it seems like most of your assessment, while accurate in many spots, is taken from points in the fight when Floyd has essentially "wrapped the fight up". It's like assessing a team solely on what they do in the 4th quarter of a game they are winning.

I definitely think Manny will be able to make Floyd work. But be clear-as the JMM fight showed Manny still drops his hands and leaves openings when pressing for the KO. Most of his opponents above 130 have not had the skills to take advantage of that.

Floyd has the skills and speed to do so.
