    Could Kovalev crack Cruiserweight?

    Simple Q.

Ultimately i think theres better matchups for him still at LHW but still. CW, while an interesting and even div, seems to lack a clear head.

At CW you have Huck, Hernandez, Drozd, Chakhkiev, Wlodarczyk, Lebedev and Usyk coming up fast. Decent fighters.

Kovalev has proven himself as the best LHW in the world. He has great power in both hands and decent rangy boxing skills. Could he go up to CW and take on the best? The weight/size gap is pretty big. From a size perspective Clev and Bellew were decent sized LHW but have looked v. small in their recent CW fights.

Would SG's power carry? Would he have the skill to overcome their size?

I believe he can. He has good boxing skills and I think his power will carry. He won't be undersized either.

with what he showed against BHop, he has the skill to go along with his power and do well at cruiser.

I think he will look quite small tbh. This guy is an inch taller than SK (going by Boxrec)

There's no money fights for Kovalev at cruiserweight right now.

There are many potential great matchups at 175 (Beterbiev, Shabranskyy, Alvarez, Stevenson, etc) and he's not having a problem making weight.

He's not really so big, he fought at middleweight in the amateurs.

Some people want him to move to cruiserweight so Ward won't be afraid to fight at 175.

He does look very natural at 175. He should stay there as long as he's comfortable.
