also, kovalev would have a speed advantage against most cw's.

    he'd do well.

i may be biased, but the only guy who could beat kovalev is wlodarczyk (assuming he's still got somtehing left in his tank, i hope he does).

he's patient, he hits hard, has a very good defence, he's a pretty good counterpuncher plus i'm still not sold on kovalev's chin, i'm sorry i'm just not.

Yeah i agree, i dont think he will move unless he manages to clear out LHW.

He's not really so big, he fought at middleweight in the amateurs.
I think he will definitely be outsized, but skill can overcome and he does have some skill.

Some people want him to move to cruiserweight so Ward won't be afraid to fight at 175.
But Ward is having no problems making 168 so why should he move up?

I think he could do well at 200 pounds but why should he? The guy is a natural light heavyweight so he would be fighting guys who are naturally much bigger than himself. Guys that punch harder and are harder to knock out than the light heavyweights he fights now. Why should he make things harder for himself? Cruiserweight is not a big money weight class. He could make more money per fight by just remaining the feared and respected light heavyweight champion of the world until he retires undefeated.

For big money fights - Stevenson and Kovalev.

He's been demanding Golovkin move up from 160 to 168 to fight him. And Ward said he's fight anyone at 168 or 175.

It's just 7 pounds, not 25 pounds like moving to cruiserweight.

Ward fought at light heavyweight in the amateurs, Kovalev fought at middleweight.

well then should GGG move up 8 pounds to fight Ward?

Oh hell yea he can, and will.

Killa Kov started his professional career in 2009, he'll move up to CW and dominate up there in 3 or 4 years.

                Quote me for truth.

I think Kovalev could move up and should he do so, he would probably become the number 1 guy there.

Kovalevs skills would carry him a long way at CW but he would be undersized he's 6'0" and the 188lbs he weighed against Bhops was his heaviest ever by a margin (though he seemed to carry it welll) so he ain't even big for a LHW.

I can see him winning a strap and being amongst the top handful in the division but he would probably take a loss or 2 along the way. That 20-25lb weight difference is quite a hurdle to overcome and I don't think simply bulking up would do any favours to Kovalev given his style.
