So after Ward shakes off the ring rust, will you want to see him move up to 175?

Ward makes him look like a fresh rookie.

    One thing about Kovalev.
You always know where his head is.

You can't give a guy like Ward a target like that.

Kovalev isn't the toughest guy in the world either.
He can dish it out but he can't take it.

His stanima...or lack thereof.... is also something else to consider.

Completely missing the point, you asked a question I gave you a answer now you trying to spin things into another direction. Nobody said anything about comparing Rodriguez to GGG besides YOU! And Rodriguez wasn't picked as a Tuneup, HBO is who decided to overpay Rodriguez to make that fight happen and Ward made it look like just a tuneup

Just gave a great example of a similar situation that Ward is in right now with HBO not approving certain opponents.

Would he "LIKE" A Tuneup? Sure but like any fighter if a good payday is presented I'm sure he would TAKE HIS CHANCES!

Well his trainer said he'd like multiple tuneups before facing top comp, and here you are guaranteeing he takes presumably the toughest fight at 168 right away, and bringing Edwin Rodriguez as evidence.

Kovalev and Stevenson are lucrative, big money fights. You guys want to see those fights, right?
There's still Chavez Jr, there's still DeGale, and their's still Groves and the Dirrell brothers, in addition to Team Golovkin still bringing up Ward's name (politics of boxing make some of those matchups far less likely to make, but there are still meaningful fights for him).

To that, you add that Kovalev and Stevenson are basically on a collision course [Kovalev-Pascal in March, Stevenson fight in April (Karpecny/Rodriguez/Chilemba all fit the bill), and the unification fight between Stevenson and the winner of Kovalev-Pascal (likely for PPV) in July/August].

Will basically come down to Ward's body reacts to being in a fight camp again; if he walks into the ring, unofficially, at 176 (while fighters like Kovalev walk in near 190 for their fights) he's not physically ready to make the jump up.

If he walks into the ring weighing, unofficially, 180, he likely closes out the year at light heavyweight.

Ward vs GGG is my second most wanted fight. It goes
            1.May-Pac
            2.Ward-GGG
            3.Canelo-GGG

I want all 3 of these fights to happen so no I don't think he should move up until he has at least 1 tune-up and the GGG fight.

Im not sure why this is so difficult to understand for Ward fans, but I'll try and explain it S-L-O-W-L-Y so you can grasp it:

GGG said he will fight ANYONE from 154-168. That being said, a fighter can say whatever they want, if the revenue isnt there the fight isnt happening. The fact is that his promoter (and any other knowledgeable boxing people) knows full well the revenue does not yet exist to make a GGG-Ward fight, so discussing it makes no sense. GGG has not yet developed a large enough fan base, and even after Ward dominated the Super Six, he still cant sell out the first 4 rows of a school bus. So bottom line is there is NOT ENOUGH MONEY to make the fight. Period. Anyone who has followed boxing longer than a week should know this. If there was enough money, Im sure Ward/Goosen (at that time), or Ward/RocNation (now) would have sent an offer over to K2, just like Top Rank did for the Chavez fight.

              jeez.............

Edit: And I must be right because so far at least 2 Ward fangirls have felt the need to red k me, like it matters lol

So much hypocrisy in this thread, the fans of GGG are really doing him a disservice, although they seem to be scared of Ward I'm sure GGG is more than up for the challenge.

That being said, the bold is true and it also applies to a Ward vs Kovalev fight so people should quiet down and relax for a bit. Ward deserves at least one tune up to see where his skills are at, contrary to popular fan belief, not every fighter returns from a long layoff firing on all cylinders..........

thats just silly. Even though I think GGG-Ward would be a 50-50 fight, a loss here or there never affected my admiration for a fighter. Personally I'd love to see the fight, and if GGG lost I'd still be every bit the fan I am right now, so I dont get where some people think "fear" comes into the equation........

OK... JMM was smaller, tut at least JMM had two belts at lightweight and they fought at the CW of 144lb...
... I guess that Chris Algieri would have been a better choice instead of Molina...

I've seen here that people always know where Golovkin's or Kovalev's head is...
Sure: because the "Russian school" isn't based on unnecessary head and or feet movement... People just don't understand -- and what they don't understand "doesn't exist"...
