Back boxing after destroying my body.

Started boxing when i was about 11 trained solidly for 4 years and was pretty good for my age. Talented even.

Anyways when i turned 16 i completely changed my life. I gave up boxing , started smoking cigs/weed, drinking and partying as much as possible. I havent done any cardio or exercise bar some weightlifting since and am currently still smoking.

Recently ive found myself thinking about boxing a lot and have to decided to to go into town buy some gloves and hit the heavy bag at my gym later.

I would love to compete but realistically how much have i set myself back here?

Just wanna say got some serious nostalgia logging on here seeing some of the posts. Ive got two videos of me fighting which got a nice bit of attention on this i can link it if theres an interest

    im 18 now

    Focus on making lifestyle changes

Have the big goal of being pro in the back of your mind at this point.

I'm contemplating joining a boxing gym soon & I'm not far off 18.

You can get back into shape pretty quick then start ams and see how well you do.

Same story here bro. trained for 4 odd years had 20 fights, gave it away just before i turned 17 and got into the drugs. I'm almost 21 now and I've trained here and there and found my cardio was shot to pieces. However you dont forget how to box, technique may be rusty but its still there. Plus i found that my power had increased dramatically with added weight and age, you should find the same too.

Your young bro, younger than me and I'm still young. you have plenty of potential to get back into it i think i vaguely remember watching a couple of your vids and you do indeed have talent.
