JAMES DEGALE vowed 'It's my time to shine' after finally being handed a world title shot.

DeGale gets the chance to become Britain's first Olympic gold medallist to win a world title when he fights Andre Dirrell for the IBF super-middlewight crown in April.

Defending champ Carl Froch yesterday vacated his belt, leaving DeGale in prime position to become a world champ seven years after his Olympic glory.

And with Froch close to ending his career, and bitter rival George Groves still rebuilding his, Londonder DeGale says the time is right for him to became the main man.

If Froch fights Hopkins in Nottingham, I would have to agree.

      Is Froch ducking...Yes
      Do i blame him..No
Froch vs Degale is 50/50, sheeet, every froch fight is a 50/50 but froch has a habit of proving people wrong.
TBH i think degale is getting an easier shot at this point in Dirrels career, for less money, but still he got a long time, and froch may even come back into the mix.
I like either fight, but hopkins vs froch will be a stinker

          Really? Why?

I fully understand why degale is not interesting to Froch. He's from a completely different era. He did his Groves fights.

Fighting Degale wouldn't mean anything down the line really. Even though Hopkins is 15 years past his prime, at least Froch would be able to say he fought the great Bernard Hopkins.

            No I don't think so.

Froch wasn't really a big deal then, people thought he was domestic level. It's actually quite astounding to see how his career has turned out. I distinctly remember people saying he didn't have the skills to compete at top level.

            And here we are..

He did Duck him but not because he's worried about fighting him. He ducked him for bigger names, more prize fight atmospheric events. Like Hopkins, or Chavez Jr. I think Froch could give a f1ck all about who WE think he should fight and what fight is interesting to a small group of hard core boxing fans (like a fight with Degale.)

EDIT: Also, why would any fan of DeGale want him to fight a past it Froch, who is clearly all but retired?

He might as well fight Roy Jones or something then. Hopkins just got his arse handed to him and is 50 years old. The fight does jack **** for Froch. It isn't even that financially rewarding

Froch-DeGale would do the City Ground and it's a win over another young hungry fighter who is in great form.

I'll accept Chavez because it's huge money and it's in Vegas. But not Hopkins in the UK. The only other fights I'll accept are Ward or GGG.

Unlike you and your moustached lover, I will actually call Froch out if he fights Hopkins.

You keep choking on Santa Cruz's greasy **** no matter how many janitors he fight.
