I think it's just a battle of wills. Neither side is willing to concede until they feel they necessarily have to. This is,mostly about the network issues and how money will be split amongst the various psrties. HBO doesn't have the upper hand and they don't like that. Floyd and SHO know they are holding the chips and they are willing to sit it out until they get what they want. A lot of blame to go around here but that's negotiations. There's still a good bit of reason to believe a deal is possible though. Both sides remain committed for now

My point is that Floyd is the one under pressure because he's insisting on the May 2nd date and it's unlikely Showtime go up against Canelo with another 800k opponent (if it even does that with Canelo as comp).
