Weeks of negotiations are frustrating Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, the promoter of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. Arum is trying to close a deal for a fight between his man and WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

As far as the agreed upon terms, Arum admits there are unresolved issues between the fighters and the networks. Mayweather has an exclusive contract with CBS/Showtime and Pacquiao fights under Time Warner/HBO. The networks are also negotiating on their end with problems related to the broadcast terms and which of them will obtain the lucrative rights to the delayed broadcast.

You have Koncz saying that this fight doesn't need to do a lot of promotional tours and the fight can/will sell itself, then you have Arum saying there isn't much time to promote a fight that will sell itself with little to no promoting and is trying to act like he's in control when everyone knows he has no leverage to dictate the terms. He just can't stand the fact that for the first time in many years, his side are the B-side.

He's resorting to his usual PR tactic bull**** and probably has every intention to not let the fight happen. Pacquiao's camp is an unorganized mess. Koncz said they'd take the Floyd's camp approach and not negotiate through the media, but Arum has different agendas. Say what you want about Floyd's camp, but at least they stick to one statement and are on the same page.

Well Arum seems to get a disproportionate amount of blame and I don't know why.

He made like 2/3rds or more of the fab four fights with Duran, Leonard Hagler and Hearns.
