The whole Cotto's team was insulted by Canelo's public challenges statement. Which is what Arum said was the reason Cotto wasn't fighting Canelo. Bob was just butt hurt because Cotto was trying to get the Money rematch instead and he (Arum) would have no involvement with and make no money off of.

WBA/IBO/WBC-interim middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs) is hoping to get a fight with full WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) in the coming months.

Cotto was in talks to face Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on May 2nd. That fight fell through. Golovkin is the mandatory challenger to Cotto's title. Golovkin will first return next month in Monaco, when he defends his titles against Martin Murray. If he wins, a date of May 16th is being penciled in for his next HBO fight.

Your entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but what in Cotto's history leads you to believe he would walk away from a block buster fight because of a few negative words hurled in his direction? IMO this is what happened behind close doors Canelo's people put what they felt was a nice offer on the table and Cotto said I like it but Haymon is offering me this much if the Pac fight falls through. Can you match it? And the rest is history. Also I am in the opinion that the result of this whole maneuver by Cotto is that he screwed himself out of a big payday.
