    Because it was the only thing open and it didn't have much effect on Clottey, Clottey threw this fight and we all know it, Floyd won't stand there with his hands up and try to survive.

      yea but you have to manage to land that perfect punch, which we never saw Pacquiao do before, he very seldom punches to the body anyway in all his fights (maybe except against Clottey because Clottey was blocking and trying to survive and there was nothing else open except his body), body punching is not his thing because he has short arms and he has to get too close to land which will give Floyd opportunities to counter.
      Floyd's straight right hand to body is phenomenal against both southpaws and normal fighters, go watch him knock out Sharmba Mitchell and Bruseles by a beautiful straight right hand to the body.
      I don't think he'll use that too often against Pacquiao though.

        Pacquiao will have to be the best Pacquiao he can be to beat Floyd, if Floyd lets Pacquiao get off first too much Pacquiao has a good chance because the straight left from Manny Pacquiao can't be slipped and countered very easily and even if you manage to duck it, he's gonna take a subtle step back and observe where your head is while you're still ducking down and fire 3 or 4 shots at you and he will defnitley manage to land something if he does that for 12 rounds cuz he's too fast, so Manny has to make sure he gets off first and watch out for counter rights by stepping to the side and moving his head after he attacks, the more punches he throws the bigger is the probability that he gets the decision even if he doesn't land too many of these punches (like what happened against Marquez, judges prefer Pacquiao in close fights because he's aggressive).
        Now for Floyd, the best thing against Pacquiao is controlling distance, if Floyd manages to take a step back as Pacquiao launches his attack and punch between Pacquiao's punches it will be an easy fight for Floyd, Floyd's strength is also his ability to change up during the fight, if he decides to go from a counter puncher to be an offensive boxer every once in a while while using feints and lead with his laser accurate right hand it will be an easy night for him because Pacquiao can't change up so fast and he won't be able to time Floyd (he couldn't time Marquez who's much slower and shorter than Mayweather), so Floyd has to mix up between offense and counter punching and not try to block or slip Pacquiao's punches too much, he should either look to take a step back and counter or back Pacquiao up with right hands followed by left hooks cuz Pacquiao can't fight going backwards and can't fight with his back to the ropes.
        Floyd has the edge IMO due to his better skills, ring IQ , reach and strength advantage, but Pacquiao has a very good chance due to his speed and foot movement.***65279;
        this is true, floyd usually uses no defense vs southpaws, he turns into a face first brawler

        cement feet guerrero trying to play counter-puncher and ortiz the fake southpaw have given a false impression

        but your breakdown was alright, although completely disagree with pacquiao unable to fight going backwards, if floyd fights trying to push him back he'll take a beating

          Go watch Pacquiao vs Marquez (any of the 4 fights) and look what Pacquiao does whenever Marquez feints or throws anything, you'll see that it's always the same thing which is to cover up, which is the most ineffective defensive move known to man, Pacquiao ver seldom ducks or moves his head to evade punches especially against fighters that feint and control distance like Marquez and Mayweather.

                  So Steve O'Meara messed Mayweather up, lol.

                  Jim McDonnell always seems like he is on gear.

                    Once again, he is a professional trainer who thinks it would be possible to do well against Floyd using this method with the right fighter...you, on the other hand are probably responsible for cleaning the j-I-z-z off the floors in the booths at the local adult bookstore...he ****s on you, believe me...

                      how much ya'll want to bet Floyd will KO pac to the body. As someone else said Pac covers up very 1 dimensionally when people throw at him. Floyd is gonna target Pac's body relentlessly and break him down to the body.
