Jeff is right. Floyd doesn't need Pac for legacy. BUT he does need to fight Pac if he wants the public and media to stop calling him "chicken, pussy, and coward"

He really doesn't need pacman for his "legacy" a) he's as already apart of it .. They are intertwined forever in boxing history without meeting in the ring ..b) If by some punchers chance PAC downs floyd it hurts his overall legacy as opposed to if he stays away from him

Imo floyd needed him years ago but he will still go down as one of the all time great boxers with or without him at this point.. They both go down as the "goat" if they don't meet..

Floyd looks worse by not fighting pac than losing to him..

Yeah that's what the general public will think.. He's worried about public perception of his legacy with the casual fans not die hard fans and nsb posters..

Lol especially the die hard boxing fans will question him not fighting pacquiao. You would have to be a pretty knowledgeable fan to know all the fighters Floyd has ducked in the past. The problem is he has the casual fans fooled with his sham undefeated record.

The thing is why can't anyone from the actual Mayweather camp respond to this without vilifying Pacquiao? hahaha....I mean, it would have been better to say that "Mayweather's legacy is intact even before this megafight".

Both fighters are great already, true! But in the eyes of boxing fans, afficionado, journalists and many boxers also - Mayweather ducking Pacquiao is pretty much the general consensus.

                ******ed.........

I believe that every single one of the Mayweather's are ******ED. They are a bunch of bogus and unrealistic idiots. Manny was a HOF'mer before he fought Oscar. His reign as a welterweight made him an ATG and LEGEND. Floyd is jealous of Manny just like Roidquez was. Manny came to Floyd's division when he retired, and took it over. He fought guys Floyd wouldn't have dreamed of fighting at that time. He kept boxing alive. Does anyone ever give him credit for that? Nope. Floyd doesn't have a prime opponent like a Morales, Barrera, or Roidquez on his resume. who is Floyd's best win? Corrales. Exactly. Why is he considered an ATG???? Based on what? He's a mere HOF'mer who doesn't deserve to be mentioned with the boxing gods. He's a coward. He's just a prize fighter. He isn't built like Manny. Manny is a fighter at heart and that's the difference between them.

As a Floyd fan, I can say if he doesn't fight Pacquiao it will adversely affect his legacy.

Horrible comparison. Leonard and Pryor fought other Hall of Famers in their prime to secure their legacies, even though Pryor is probably a cheating pr1ck with Panama Lewis in his corner. As far as Roy Jones, at least he fought B-Hop an d Tarver more than once.
