Comments Thread For: J. Mayweather: Floyd Don't Need Pacquiao For Legacy

Trainer Jeff Mayweather, uncle of WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., says his nephew's legacy is secure with or without a fight with career rival Manny Pacquiao.

Jeff says plenty of the all-time greats had a career rival they never faced in the ring for one reason or another and his nephew, a five division world champion, is no different.

Talks continue to make a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight for May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Jeff is such a clown. Yeah, many matchups never happened, but there's never been a blatant ducker like Floydie. Sorry Jeff, you're too bogus for words. If Floydie doesn't fight Manny, Floydie can talk the rest of his life non-stop til he croaks off... won't make a difference. Most fans would think he was not GOAT, and he ducked his biggest challenge.

To really move his standing beyond what it currently is yea he does, they are two of the 5 best fighters of the last 2 decades. It was the only fight like that available to him in his career really, so missing that would be pretty big.

In a certain aspect he is right though Floyd was already one of the 5 greatest fighters of the last 2 decades as it was. I don't care your field if you are one of the 5 best in the world over a 20 year stretch your legacy is secure.

                  yes he do.

if he doesnt fight pacquaio it will go down like he ducked pacquaio (whether its true or not) that is the way it will be percieve and public perception is the only thing that matters,

Jeff Mayweather, open up your eyes, your ears and your mind and see and hear and think why the Boxing fans, Boxing Officials, as well as, Boxing Legends wants the fight(Mayweather jr vs Pacquiao) to happen!

Let them fight and settle the issue inside the ring! no more excuses and alibis bring them inside the ring and let see who is who.
