For the first time in over a year Andre Ward is eligible to make a fight with Gennady Golovkin, and he's suddenly quieter than ever about fighting him.

GGG: that fight doesnt make financial sense, ill fight cotto he just won a belt. I want to unify titles

GGG fans are blind to that fact. "not in the same division doe". Well, ggg laid out the challenge. Ward accepted and GGG wasn't even interested.
What's wrong with unifying the titles at 160 then moving to 168?

Don't worry, Ward will be there. He's so reluctant to move to 175.

Makes me think of Hagler, he dominated MW for years again less than stellar competition, never moved up but took on all comers at his weight. Eventualy the big names came to him. He's regarded as a great now, I don't see why things should be different for GGG

you can make the same argument for ward. He should be able to unify titles before moving up.

You want to see Froch and Abraham 2? For what? He beat them, in the Super Six.

He can fight Dirrell, fine. Then move up, like he said he would years ago.

I feel you, but ward hasn't unified titles and would be great for his already good resume

Just saying he would fight him at 168 is not laying out a challenge.

Ward is the champion at 168 and GGG isn't even ranked in that division. So for the fight to happen, Ward would would need to offer GGG a shot at his title.

That would be laying out a challenge, and Ward didn't do it.

Same thing with Carlos Monzon, another ATG MW champion.

Ward - GGG will happen but don't expect it this year.
The moment that Abel Sanchez went out of his way to say that Golovkin crushes any fighter 154-168 and publically putting him as the third best middleweight ever, just behind Hagler and Hopkins, Golovkin has had Andre Ward problems.

Funny to watch the entire camp going into stammers the moment that Ward;s name is even mentioned, lol.
