Can't keep giving fighters millions to fight bums.
Doesn't matter if it's Ward, Berto, Cruz, Quillin or whoever....fight some legit opposition and earn those millions.Comment

It's not really a double standard, because people don't find Ward exciting, and they do find GGG exciting, so of course the required opposition is completely different. If they were both exciting, then it would be a double standard.Yesterday I read that Roc Nations is now only looking at Ward fighting 2x this year instead of three. Today Kim tweets on Ward 'butting' with HBO over his tune-up.
Word in the industry is that Andre Ward and HBO are butting heads because Ward wants an expensive tune-up fight, network is balking #boxing

Basically, Ward feels he***39;s had a long lay-off( which he has), but should he be rewarded for that by HBO when it was self-inflicted? #boxing

This guy might be Peter Quillin ******. How does he not understand that with his high minimum, he can't just expect to take blow-off fights? He points out it's a double standard with Golovkin, but he never mentions Golovkin gets less than half of what he gets for about the same ratings.
If he was smart, he'd let Roc Nation put him on Fox or ESPN for a couple fights and rebuild his brand. Yeah he doesn't get much money for it, but advertising costs money!
Ward has to fight someone dangerous. It's like Floyd Manny. Manny can fight anyone and it'll be entertaining. But unless Floyd fights the right opponent, people are not interested.
I do hope HBO refuses an easy tune up. No one wants to see that.Comment

Bradley is totally over-valued due to the Pacquiao upset, considering he can't sell out a 5,000 seat venue. But to Tim's credit, he did give us the Provodnikov performance. I also think they overpaid Tim in order to keep him from going to Haymon, market values...
I suspect Bradley's recent 'draw' vs Chavez, may have had something to do with a possible stipulation in his contract regarding his guarantee. If you remember, Bradley and his wife negotiated the contract directly with TR and Cameron Dunkin was not involved...Comment

They probably want to go ahead and see him tune up with Ramirez, but it seems Ward wants too much for it. It's not like Ramirez would give him a hard fight or anything.Comment

This is why I respect Bernard Hopkins he knows his role and his marketing value, he knows he isn't a super star on the level of an Oscar, Canelo, Pac or Floyd or Cotto, and he doesnt price himself out.Yesterday I read that Roc Nations is now only looking at Ward fighting 2x this year instead of three. Ward isn't even as famous as B hop, yet he wants to get an expensive tune up bout. Ward already signed a what 40 million dollar contract with Roc nation and now he wants to squeeze more cash from hbo.Comment
