Someone didn't want the fight. Whether it's Cotto or Alvarez, I'm not sure.

That is exactly what Oscar said.

Well it wasn't the guy who was practically begging for the fight to happen.

Just being realistic. Cotto is a blown up welterweight so no way he would risk against GGG at full MW. To be fair none of the "A" level welterweights or super welterweight would risk against GGG at 160.

Anyways Canelo Cotto, Canelo Kirkland is the same caliber fight imo. ****, Cotto should fight Kirkland and see how he fairs next.
Just as far as the date was concerned. Canelo was insisting on may 2nd. And, fighting on the same night as pac-may fight is not good business.

Canelo is fighting Kirkland so that he can stay $$ before possibly losing a Cotto or GGG fight. If he fought Clottey he would had looked very badly.

                    WFT are you talking about?
Canelo/Cotto would have to have fought in June if May/Pac gets made. But if it didn't get made, it's ****** not to want to fight on one of boxings biggest dates.

Again he wouldn't have done that.
Had Pacquiao/Mayweather been made, Canelo/Cotto would have moved to June. Oscar said this repeatedly.

Not to mention HBO would co-broadcast with Showtime that night. THey wouldn't put Canelo/Cotto on a separate HBO card and hurt itself.
