Pacquiao is far a more accomplished boxer than Maidana and one of the most dangerous southpaws ever. Staying on the inside would be the biggest mistake of Floyd's career.

And if Mayweather runs and clinches all night, coasting to a boring unanimous decision, he will be ridiculed for ages on this world stage. It will be interesting to see how much he really cares about his legacy in this fight. On the other hand, I'm not sure Manny will let him hide all night like Maidana did.

    • If the fight is made, the announcement will come from Mayweather. Mayweather has used social media, including Twitter and Shots, to announce his last several fights.

Koncz said Mayweather wants to make the announcement, and that he and Pacquiao agreed.

Floyd has a very good inside game. He has an excellent outside game.

@rickyusc13 @YahooSports It's up to him but I don't believe he'd do that. Super Bowl will drown it out quite a bit

If Floyd lays on the ropes that helps Manny because then he can control the distance a bit better but he has to be careful there also because he can't fall out of that range.

Not that it can't be done and Manny is a great fighter but having to thread a needle constantly is tough.
Yep. I agree man. Pac knows whats up, i feel hes gonna start fast and strong to score some early points and try to get Floyd outta there before he finds his rhythm. I dont expect Pac to apply constant relentless pressure as floyd is a great counter puncher and as you touched on-Pac cant fall outta range-his lead foot has to be in range while his trail foot is out and he has to compose himself in that position throughout. Like i said, jabs & feints and when floyd reacts and counters, thats what Pac has to capitalize on. Reset and counter again with applied pressure. Pacs gonna have to control the tempo and change gears constantly throughout because floyd WILL time him. And of course all of this is easier said than done.

As for Floyd, we all know what hes capable of and hes just like, as Bruce Lee once said, water. Man, im so intrigued and anxious to see what Pacs gameplan will be, because if anybody is to be able to execute their gameplan against Floyd-its Pac. I think Pacs gonna leave everything in the ring come May 2, Knock floyd out or get KOd in the process-thats the mindset Pacs bringin. Im pullin for Floyd bcuz i like his fighting style but i knoq its gonna be a good fight..

This. Good post man. This is true on so many levels.

I like the part where you say footwork lays the foundation for everything else...Amen. and its actually the very 1st building block to boxing next to stance.

              • Nothing new today. No talk on both sides. Maybe the lull before the big explosion.

Ive have been saying this for a long time you guys do not understand weight .

Lets look at a race horse , they run under a handicap system and many times a horse is how they say caught by the handicapper , this horse is always just of the pace and finishes midfield , so what the trainer does is put him a race thats weight for age ( loses the handicap) and lowers the class a tiny bit and all of a sudden that horse wins by a mile .

This is similar to Floyd and weight , he is constantly fighting much bigger better opponents than what Manny has been fighting , when these two meet this is the first time since Marquez has Floyd been in with somebody not as big and not as strong as he is used too , you wait and see how that translates in this fight , dont be surprised if Floyd stops him .
