Rahman won the fight 115-114. He threw enough jabs that tagged James Toney to win the fight. James landed very clean hard shots, but mostly layed around. Rahman was also hitting James's kidneys MULTIPLE times throughout rounds... In my opinion, that is still a clean hit and should be score with some, not a lot, but some weight. Rahman was simply just busier. A

I think this fight had a close resemblance to the Hopkins/Taylor fights... One was bigger and more active. Having constant pressure like Taylor did wins you rounds as well.

No, it didnt, rahman should have won it. Bull**** decision. Rahman worked behind his jab, and when he was close to toney, rahman beat him at his own game.

i had it 114-114 a draw. i thought that toney gased and didn't let his hands go like he should've in the last 3 rounds. although he was sharp and accurate when he did throw, he just didn't throw enough towards the end. which led to rahman catching up in the punch stats and letting him catch up on the judges cards, and mine for that matter.

a better conditioned toney would've made this fight a lot better and more entertaining. that and he would've probably won.

i give props to rahman i thought that he was going to be lazy and he was quite the opposite. he used his jab pretty good too, which i also thought he was going to forget to use. the only gripe i got about rahman was that he was fighting a former middle weight and he couldn't do any damage on toney. he should've mauled toney with his size advantage and smothered the **** out of him.

i have to mention this too, did anyone else think that the ref did a ****ty job?

i was getting pretty frustrated that rahman keep hitting toney in the back and was pushing toney the whole fight, most of the time with his forearm. it took up until the 10th round before the ref said anything. i thought that it was bull**** that rahman was getting away with shoving his forearm in toneys throat and face all night.

ooh well i really don't care to see a rematch, but i'm sure it's inevitable......

115-113 Rahman. He won the fight to me at least in the last round. Very tough fight to score with all the infighting. I can see where the draw came from though as rounds 8 and 9 could have gone either way ( i gave them to hasim albeit with some concern). Definetly a fight where quantity of blows landed carried the day over quality as Toney definetly landed the cleaner shots. If James had any sort of pop behind an uppercut or could follow up a punch on the inside, i think he could have finished Hasim late with as much infighting as was going on. But thats what showing up like a fat ass will do for ya. Again all just IMO

The best I could do was give Toney 2 rounds in the middle of the fight. Any rally he had fell short because he had nothing to keep Rahman off him and no stamina to substain more than some scattered bursts. He was a 250lb punching bag for Rahman.

What ever defensive genius he used to have, his defense IQ now ranks in the single digits along with some of the teenyslobbers on this board.
