Yes that's what I thought, but if as someone else said Haymon's circuit is using other companies fighters then it would work. I don't have a problem with Haymon I just would hate it if GBP, TR and other company fighters being left out of the roster in Haymon's shows.

More important than signing up all these fighters, is that Haymon's taking over all the networks. Even if a promoter like Roc Nations have a great stable of fighters, they're now limited where they can take them.

HBO is quickly becoming the sole resistance to Haymon's power move. I don't think he necessarily wants to put boxing on all these channels all the time over the whole year, he faces diluting his already diluted product. In time though, if other promoters can't develop their talent on other channels than HBO, and HBO can't put on competitive fights without Haymon fighters, they could be driven out.

At the same time Haymon faces his own challenge of building sustained interest in his product to the point where it will pay for itself, which will be a bigger challenge than he'd like due to the fact HBO is still holding on to the majority of the stars. We could have a game of chicken here. Who dies off first?

Al's bought himself time with the investor money (estimated at around $100mill). One writer speculated he's looking for a network deal similar to what FOX paid the UFC ($100mill per year for 2-3 years?), which is far cheaper than other sports. - Recent problem though is he's doing time buys, and the channels are rumored to becoming preferential to that... Anyway the whole machine changes when cord cutting finally goes into full swing.

          NFL $5 billion
          NBA $2.9 billion
          MLB $850 million
          NASCAR $820 million
          NCAA Tournament $786 million
          PGA Tour $700 million
          NHL $633 million
          College Football Playoff $608 million
          UFC $100 million
          WNBA $12 million
          HBO Boxing ~$30 million
          Showtime Boxing ~$25 million

Now I remember that before signing a seven-year broadcast deal with Fox (trough Fox Sports), UFC had a partnership with (guess?) S pike TV and Versus (now NBC Sports Network).

Hopefully. The best fight the best in the UFC. The UFC's biggest issues are lack of great fighters and fighters being paid pennies. Those aren't issues in boxing.

It's could be done but I don't think Al Haymon could do it alone.

It would need a huge amount of money to set up and I'm not sure it would be profitable because you would need to pay overs to a lot of fighters to get them to join initially.

Once u had all the best fighters signed up then you would have the upper hand as fighters will want to join up to fight in the big competition lie with UFC.

Once Floyd and mAnny retire it could be doable, our could sign every good fighter on say 3 year deals for a few hundred million. Just need a billionaire backer.

UFC's biggest problem are injuries and retirements. When they have a major star, they do incredible numbers. As for them paying their athletes pennies, boxers are overpaid per market value due to HBO/Showtime. UFC has invested much of it's money back into it's infrastructure.

I see people here always mentioning Dana White, White is just a figure head and minority owner. The Fertitta's, who are billionaires from owning the Station Casino company, are the actual owners.
