Dorticos is really nothing special from what I've seen. If Gassiev and his team took this fight, they must feel confident they can beat him. But you're right, Gassiev being only 21, he should take his time.

Dorticos vs Kudryashov would have made more sense.

Gassiev is very good, but he lacks the deep amateur background of Dorticos and is just age 21 while Dorticos is age 28.

In a year or two, he'll be ready for someone like Dorticos, but not yet. They are throwing the excellent Russian prospect to the wolves with this one.

I know of Gassiev because Abel Sanchez has been pushing him as potentially his next star fighter, he spars with Golovkin. Young tho, 21 years old w/20 fights.

Five star thread... Good stuff, I really enjoy the cruiserweight division.. This division has given us some exciting fights over the years that get overlooked IMO

Would love to see Mchunu vs Makabu I rate both highly but do think Makabu needs to improve his stamina.
