        honestly

        but he could lose

        its hard to say

with ali he would have faced a guy with as fast as hands as he had but not faster feet. the thing is with ali vs jones, if jones made ali fight on the front foot, it would play against the way ali liked the fight

either way, i dont see any of the fights being action packed

joe louis could be outboxed but obviously at heavyweight jones is not going to be as quick and athletic . if he got caught by a joe louis right hand it could be curtains

roy would fight it surprisingly difficult to catch frazier. joe had an underrated defence but he was suspectible for an uppercut. roys fav punch was the left hook, never rly seen him utilise the uppercut, i think joe mows down roy to the point that roy doesnt take enough risks to win the fight

Hahahha. Ali would murder Jones. Is that a joke. Ali was 6'3 and 215-220.
His handspeed is also only slightly slower than a 168 pound Jones.

Think about this. Watch Ali in his prime. He was only slightly slower than Jones in terms of handspeed. Difference is Ali weight around 40 pounds more.

Now HW Version of Jones? Ali was faster than the version who fought Ruiz. Ali would kill Jones rofl. Damn this is absurdity.

How is this relevant? It's PRIME Ali vs HW Version of Jones. That was the question.

But the only version of Ali Jones can beat is the version who got schooled by Holmes/Berbick.

How do you see Prime Lennox vs Roy Jones going?

Not good, Roy got KO'd by Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson at 175, he would have got knocked by any power punchers.
Joe Frazier would have mopped the floor with Roy.
Rocky Marciano would have won by KO at some point, esp. over 15 rounds.

Roy was great but not a heavyweight, no way his chin would hold up to a good heavyweight. Ruiz is considered one of the worst heavyweight champ ever.

"Rugged" but that doesn't mean much when you get his with stuff you never see coming. Roy dodging deliberate looping hooks and making Joe look stupid.
What about late in the fight when Frazier finally lands..

Well, I would have to imagine that HW Roy would have totally clowned and very quickly knocked out any and all of the smaller heavies from the past (taking that to mean pre-80's, "pre-professional" times).

Of course once we get to a guy like Mike Tyson, who is not exactly small at all really, then obviously Roy is beat.

A Chris Byrd or Eddie Chambers match with Roy would have been interesting.

                  Disagree.

The so called "prime" Ali could never beat Roy Jones under any circumstances! He doesn't have the experience or the tools to beat or upset him.

Prime Ali lost a fight to bloody DOUG Jones for Christ sake! Got almost KOed by Cooper and couldn't even avoid getting bashed up by guys like Chuvalo, Liston (possibly the slowest HW ever) and Mildenberger etc. How you can think a young Ali beats HW Roy is incredible!

Your right. The only tools Ali has are the some of the fastest hands and feet ever, on a 6''3 200lb man. Coupled with a iron chin and will of steel.

Just stop spewing lies bro its not cool.

Ali a small heavyweight? LOL ok.

I'll bite, he gets stopped by all of them, he might have a chance against Patterson who was legitimately small and Marciano who was slow and more of a cruiser but I think Rocky would catch him and Jones gets stopped.
