Yeah Canelo hurt his feelings and Martinez didn't. STFU Bob Cotto-Canelo isn't happening because Cotto is fighting Floyd next. You know, P4P best in the world. Bob probably isn't too happy he isn't getting the Floyd-Pacquiao fight and I'm sure Cotto won't be asking for his help when he fights Floyd.

Based on one his resume and two because he has been one of the most entertaining fighters of his generation. And three he has won titles in four weight divisions. The key words here are ''one of'' and ''this generation''.

If you take the Yuri Foreman and Sergio Martinez stuff he's pulled the past few years seriously maybe.

Other than that the best names on his resume are losses and he hasn't had a meaningful win in several years.

He has the Puerto Ricans behind him no matter what he does but as soon as a better PR fighter comes along, watch them all gladly forget Cotto ever existed. It seems like he's just filling in until someone worth cheering for comes along to save them from faking it.

Arum is full of crap here, the only reason Cotto's not fighting Canelo is MONEY. And based on other interviews with Arum recently about this subject one can only assume he is pissed at Cotto and his team because he ''Arum'' believes they have been negotiating with Haymon on the side.

Dude no one is faking nothing, when Tito retired Cotto took his place as the number one PR fighter. And has done a good job at keeping himself relevant Puerto Ricans are hardcore fight fans and most root for Rican fighters that's because of the so called Mexican/PR rivalry which sells millions of PPV's. When he retires Félix Verdejo will take his place. Being loyal to our fighters does not make us fakes. We Ricans have purchased many PPV'S not involving PR fighters. LOYALTY

I have no problem with cheering for your own guys at all. I'm not the PC hippie type, I like the tension and rivalries in boxing.

It just seems that with Cotto, people who are supporting him based on shared nationality start to falsely embellish his record to make him seem like a worthy heir to that fan base.

Mosely was over seven years ago. Since then it's been a very controversy-laden and quite frankly mediocre 8-4, wailing on the injured/retiring or average, and losing to the decent.

A more worthy standard bearer will come along. One of the greatest fighters or our generation? Quite a stretch. With his dedicated PR fanbase he's a superstar, but you take away that glitter and he seems more like an inconsistent gatekeeper.

exactly. cotto has been a good, solid fighter, but never a great one. his fans elevate this whole 4 division world champ thing to mean more than it does. guerrero is a 4 division world champ and broner is 3 division and will probably get his fourth at 140 in the near future, does that mean they are also 2 of the greatest fighters of their generation? there seems to be more "greatest fighters" walking around than there are bums.
cotto has never won against an a level fighter and has even been beaten by some that could be considered b level. that is the truth about miguel cotto.
