Haymon-Arum cold war was the reason why Pac-Algieri was happening right now.
Believe that if you want to, I believe otherwise:

    Why Arum doesn't like a Pacquiao-Garcia fight

Boxing promoter Bob Arum maintained that he doesn’t favor Danny Garcia as a possible opponent for Manny Pacquiao.

The Top Rank Inc. CEO explained that Garcia, the current junior welterweight king, might not even get past Chris Algieri, who is scheduled for a 12-round joust with Pacquiao.

“I don't think Danny Garcia if he fought Algieri today would have much of a chance,” Arum said in an interview with Radio Rahim. “I mean Algieri is a real great athlete.”

There have been talks of a possible match-up between Pacquiao and Garcia before the Algieri fight was set up.

“We were gonna make Pacquiao-Provodnikov, but once Algieri licked him (Provodnikov), then we figured Algieri has enough of a back story to make this fight very interesting,” he said.

Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach earlier said the unbeaten Garcia will be a perfect opponent for Pacquiao once the Filipino steps down to the junior welterweight division.

The 26-year-old Garcia has a record of 29 wins with no loss, with 17 of his victories coming by knockout. He currently holds the WBC, WBA and RING light-welterweight titles.

    September 12, 2014:

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - According to Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya, manager Al Haymon is very open to the idea of having WBC/WBA 140-pound champion Danny Garcia (29-0, 17KOs) move up in weight to face WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2 38KOs).

"I love the Danny Garcia-Pacquiao fight for instance. We have talked to Al about it and he likes it, he's open to it. We're going towards the right direction [of making fights with Top Rank]," De La Hoya said.

As BoxingScene.com reported earlier, De La Hoya met with Top Rank on Thursday and several potential fights were discussed.

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, and Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach, are very interested in having the Filipino superstar face Garcia next year. Pacquiao will first defend his title against Chris Algieri on November 22 in Macau, China.

Although there is a lot of tension between Arum and Haymon, De La Hoya says that wouldn't be an issue with making the fight, because the two promoters will handle the actual negotiations.

"There is a manager at Top Rank that I'm not too fond of that works closely with Top Rank. I'm not gong to work with him, I'm going to work with Bob," De La Hoya said.

Pacquiao's last 5 fights (Algieri, Bradley 2, Rios, Marquez, Bradley 1 ), Pacquiao was hit with a total of 598 times.

Mayweather's last 5 fights (Maidana 2, Maidana 1, Álvarez, Guerrero, Cotto), Floyd was hit with a total of 678 times

In the last 5 fights of Floyd, is there anyone there that is faster than Pacquiao? Is there anyone there that has slickier movement than Pacquiao?

Manny will hunt Floyd w/o a bit of respect for his power... Manny will walk over Floyd for 12 rounds. Floyd have troubles w/ an aggressive fighter and mostly w/ a SOUTHPAW. Pac will be coming from different angles with explosive footwork confusing feints, and head movement, and u better believe Freddie Roach and him will come in with several gameplans, not just feint to body, feint feint, over hand. I don't see Floyd having a chance to win against Manny.. not a bit... only by ROBBERY!
Nice job taking those #s outta context

"Floyd has trouble with southpaws doe"

        "Manny has awkward angles doe"

Just regurgitating what you read somewhere, you have no clue how to analyze floyd or pac, but nice try.

Floyd has trouble with fighters who have a nice JAB
Pac has great foot speed but he over-extends when throwing(lunges)

Yup. He's so smart he figured out the best way to avoid that punch is to just avoid the fight all together.

If you watched the UFC last night, Mcgregor showed the world how the **** you turn **** up and let people know who you want next. None of that bull**** about "if it makes good business sense, we can fight" or "It's up to my manager to decide who I fight" Blah, blah, blah. My sport has become soft as ****. smh

Manny pre Marquez KO right after his win over Cotto had a great chance to beat Floyd, he had the perfect blend of ferocity and fearless aggression.

Pac today is going to get pot shotted, he is too cautious now after that KO and is trying to box more. Floyd loves guys who are stagnant and try to out box him, Floyd has sharp pot shots, he is like a sniper, he might not have fast combos but his one punch shot is so fast its like a cobra strike, Pac has to find a way to land that straight left hand.
